If they are doing it to quench the rumours it is actually going to happen. Stop, you just fuel the rumours.

If they are doing it because they honest to god have this such a strong desire to tell this very innocuous and mostly clever community of people what to think of their product, well, I have something to say to that:

- you are very unprofessional and you’ve entered the wrong profession. Writing as per all the creative arts, synonyms with critique and critical thinking. When you create for an audience, it’s a two-way system. You gonna have to deal with it, fam. Grow a pair.  

- you, yourself, are writing a fanfiction of the original piece. May I just remind you ACD himself couldn’t give a fucking shit about Sherlock Holmes and basically waived copyright to anyone who wanted to do whatever with his character. “You may marry him, murder him, or do anything you like to him”. It’s not yours. 

- in a world where minorities are so horribly represented on the media, would it be so very bad an iconic character to represent a minority?
