Calling it the start of a clean slate as we enter this new year and I think there is power in making goals and then sharing them to the masses. Makes them a reality. It holds you accountable to put action to your words. It allows people to help you walk then out. This is why O end each year with a reflection and then share my reflection and goals on social media. Along with my goals for 2016, this year I've decided to share past year end reflections. Primarily because I actually think my past reflections will speak to you on a more personal level lol. Very important. In fact I don't think we value education as much as we should in our society. Yes, I think we recognize its importance, however I do not believe that we pursue that it be taught with excellence and by no exceptions. Everyone should have the right to an education around the world and unfortunately they do not. I think especially when it comes to liberation, more specifically women's liberation, education needs to be seen as a key in breaking down barriers and empowering women everywhere to take a stand against injustice without fear. Education teaches people their rights as people in this world. 

With so much negativity in the world. With so many people searching for relevance, importance, beauty, fame, and acceptance, we must try to remind ourselves that there is something much greater than ourselves worthy of thriving in. Know your truths and if you don't know what those are, know you are created in His image and likeness so much that when He created YOU He saw YOU and said YOU were GOOD. Here are some for certain truths about you: you are loved, beautiful, redeemed, blessed, good enough and forgiven. So thrive baby thrive!! #repost

Weekend adventures...and so they begin.

"The worst part is you’re likely to begin to believe you aren’t good enough. You’re likely to question yourself, question the person you are, the choices you’ve made in life." I've learned that you have to believe your gut. I've learned that it doesn't matter what "title" you have with a person the stronger the bond, the promises, the connection...it still hurts. I've learned that we are all broken people and sometimes in trying to protect those we "love" we hurt them. We even hurt ourselves. I've learned that I can't always take the high road and be respectful. That sometimes the high road may not give voice to my pain. Validate my valuable emotions. I've learned that I can't heal, I can't fully live, I can't fully be happy if I am not open and honest about the things that break me, have broken me, and still at times haunt and hurt me. So here is to being straight honest. I'm doing great, I have unnoticeable to the world but very noticeable to me, scars and wounds on my heart and mind. My greatest battle is just that, feeling good about myself. Believing that I have something great to offer someone someday. That I am so worthy. That I am beautiful. I hide these feelings behind a lot of things, because I'm scared of feeling them in case someone tells me otherwise. I try to cope but I really just need to be set free. I don't think I am alone in this struggle. In fact I don't doubt I am not. And maybe, just maybe, the best way to overcome such insecurities is by being open and honest about them and living despite them. My name is Eunice. I am beautiful, smart, extremely funny, passionate and loyal. I have days I feel the complete opposite of everyone of those things, but today I'm happy and I have hope. My main goal in life is to never let hope die for myself or anyone else for that matter. That seems simple enough too, given what my hope is built on.

I fell pretty hard yesterday. I have the intention to get back up. Yet, I find myself not motivated and unable to move. I sometimes wonder if I'm supposed to crawl until I find strength to run again. I sometimes wonder if being down is right where I'm supposed to be. I haven't lost hope in living, I just am not a person used to standing still. Not sure if this complacency is God induced or the results of my past mistakes. Too say the least, I know I can only look forward, however there are days I look back on decisions I made and wish I had never did any of that. Waiting for the right thing is hard, but I've learned quickly that it beats the setbacks and problems that are birthed from doing things out of God's timing. Obedience to God is far more beneficial and rewarding than temporary satisfaction or approval. I've learned pursuing what I want will never ever bring me wholeness or fulfillment unless it is His will. I wonder when my heart and mind will see and know Jesus like I used to. I didn't realize how special my connection to my Father in Heaven was until my desire for one person changed that. Never again. Never again. I'll stay put until I can run again. I will never compromise my true love for temporary satisfaction or affection.
