New Movie Collector’s Forum - Your Invitation…
Here is your official invitation to a new collector’s forum, Vintage Movie Poster Forum.
It is run by collectors, so you won’t have to worry about pesky ads and the like. And in reality it’s not just posters, we love all things film! Your knowledge and input is vital to the continued progress of our collector community. Plus, we love seeing what other people collect.
It is also run on the award winning Vanilla platform and is fully integrated with Facebook (you can even sign up that way), twitter and other social media. It has other unique features such as reaction button (like, vote up, etc.) and unlike most forums, this one lets you use html! Anyway I may be dipping in the weeds, but we are just out to have fun and welcome all to check it out and join if you like what you see!Â

Reblog it!
Nun's Story (1959) - French Grande Affiche
Here is the French Grande Affiche for Nun's Story - This is the first release.
Nun's Story (199) - French Medium Affiche
First release pretty sure...
The Sandpiper (1965) - British Quad
Picked this one up over the weekend. Â I don't have it in hand but had to share!

Love in the Afternoon (1957) - US Three Sheet
Oh Audrey!  Picked this one up after it was offered to me from a good buddy for a reasonable price.  This campaign was created by Saul Bass.  What?  You don't know who Saul Bass is?  Shame on you!  The Shining, Vertigo. Anatomy of a Murder.  You've seen his work.  Ever pump gas at an Exxon?  That logo is his design, as well as all the visual components of an Exxon station.  Even down to the tidbits around the gas pump and the sign where the prices go!
Black Swan (2010) - London Film Festival British Quad
I am 99% certain this is a poster from the London Film Festival. On no other poster in the campaign is the London Film Festival mentioned.  Both the Venice and Toronto Festival took place in September vs. the London Festival in October.  You can also see it here behind Mila at the LFF Premier.Â
I collected Black Swan for the better part of two years and have so many I've lost count.
Traffic (1971) - French Grande Affiche 47" x 63"
We all hate it! Â Love the imagery on this one. Â I've never seen the film but my background is in transportation, so this is perfect for me. Â I have a spot picked out for this in my office... Â Interesting note is the spelling of 'Traffic' Â the European countries only place one 'f' in the word versus the US One Sheet having two 'f's...
Amadeus (1984) - Japanese B2
This is the basic art for the campaign, as was seen on the Australian Daybill and can be found on the US One Sheet, and British Quad. Presumably Salieri in costume standing over Vienna. There appears to be the opera singer from Magic Flute at his forehead.  Not sure the meaning of this, other than for it to represent Mozart's last opera  where he collapses and never fully returns to good health and dies while Salieri watches over...Â
Amadeus (1984) - Australian Daybill
Another film that I passionately collect. Â I remember watching this film from start to finish in the middle of the night and just being memorized by it. Â I use to be a bit of a classical music nut up until around high school, when I refused to be in band and went the Guns N' Roses route. Â I use to compete in music memory competitions and knew almost every well know Mozart piece. Â I could tell you their name and other details just by listening to the piece. Â This film touches me from the memories I had of listening to Mozart as a young kid. Plus there are some 'Guns N' Roses' style scandals in the film to appeal to my rebellious side...

Aladdin and His Lamp (1952) - US Insert
Picked this one up from movieposterbid.com in an insert buying binge. Â I later restored this poster by paperbacking it and touching up the worn parts. Â Check out the Before & After image here.
African Queen (1951) - US Insert
One poster that never comes down off the wall. Â I picked this one up strangely for some cash and a 'hot wheels' sized Bat Mobile from 1976 in trade. Â The dealer said throw something in to sweeten the deal... So I had this old Bat Mobile and the rest is history... Â Really wouldn't mind snagging the US One Sheet at some point.
The Abyss (1989) - Japanese B2
Navy SEALs and roughnecks never mix... Â Is it a sin to always check Mary Elizabeth out when she is lying there unconscious?Â
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) - Australian Daybill RR
"The Mightiest Motion Picture of Them All!"
First science fiction film personally produced by Walt Disney and first distributed by Buena Vista.
14 Hours (1951) - US Insert
Grace Kelly's film debut!!! Â The first time on the big screen. Â Plus Debra Paget... Â

"7 Women" (1966) - Australian DaybillÂ
John Fords last time in the Director's Chair...Â
Stargate (1994) - Argentinian One Sheet
One of my most complete collections is from the film Stargate. I have some 40+ different pieces on the original film (not the SG-1 series). Â My buddy in Argentina just sent me a message the other day and said he has found another copy. Â Without the tape on the faces and a chunk missing - so that's mighty fine!
