Elementary, my dear dummy!

chip had now learned that mulled wine was very dangerous, evident by the giggles that erupted past her lips as she tried her hardest to stay upright on the ice. normally this wouldn’t alarm her, she was a competent skater, but with the amount of alcohol in her system she seemed to have lost just enough coordination to make her look like bambi. “ah! sorry!” chip screamed as she lost her balance and fell forward, catching herself on rosie. she laughed brightly as she clung to the girl, arms wrapped firmly around her. “i’m just going to hang on for a second.” @rosiewidow

"oh, did you decide to join the frog jazz band?” she teased, faking enthusiasm as she laughed. "i have to be honest, i was really crossing my fingers for that one." 

comfort was always something rosie had a precarious relationship with, and she hardly thinks she can be blamed for it. self built brick walls around her at all times these days as she keeps her guard up in situations she probably shouldn’t have to. this was, surprisingly, not one of those times. the quiet murmur of conversation in the pub is comforting as rosie keeps her grip on her glass. “okay,” she looks over at chip with a smile. “your next three drinks are on me if you hit the mark.” with her free hand she holds the darts out to the newest addition in her life, challenge clear in her tone because she doubts chip will succeed. but she’d welcome a surprise, even if it’s at her wallet’s expense. @charliemunk

lips curved quickly into a confident smirk at the challenge. she’d started hanging out around the pub when she’d seen rosie go in on multiple occasions. it seemed like the easiest way at a chance to get closer to the woman. there was no better way to get answers than from the source. when she’d been hired to find incriminating information on rosie, chip had started by just tailing her. she had to learn her habits and routines. she took pictures at different locations, rosie with her friends and acquaintances, or on her own. then, she started going to rosie’s pub. eventually they began talking, and now here they were at the bar together, betting on darts and beer. “i will take that bet.” she agrees, taking the darts, fingers brushing the other woman’s. 

Popping a piece of kettle popcorn between her lips, Genevieve took her time strolling through the festival. It was a new experience arriving by herself but she knew Candice, Hans, and Claudette were around somewhere, eventually she’d find them. Until then she would roam on her own. Stopping in a group of people, she admired some of the carved pumpkins ( though admired wasn’t the right word ). “That certainly is…something. Is it supposed to be a bat?”

Chip had been wandering around the event, mostly just keeping to herself. She hated showing up to these things without her brother, he was the more social of the two and without him she hardly had any reason to stop and have a conversation. But when she heard the familiar voice a small smile found her lips. They weren’t friends, but at least it was someone she was used to being around. “Looks more like a turkey.” She commented, studying the oddly carved pumpkin.

chip had to try her best not to laugh as she pulled up the pet store website. the whole thing was crazy, but once she’d gotten over the shock of naveen being an amphibian, she could resist any opportunity to tease him for it. “i don’t know if they make frog halloween costumes. maybe i should look at like etsy or whatever.” @naveenmaldonia

Monterey Jack: Burn down the building.

Dale: I have an idea, but we’re gonna need a tugboat.

Chip: Tugboats and arson. That’s all I ever get from you guys.

Naveen could be pretend to be shocked or hurt by her surprise that he still has a job, but to be perfectly honest he’s just as surprised. “Four weeks and counting,” he announces proudly, a broad grin on his lips. “It’s a new record. I’m practically king of the place.” He laughs as he opens his arms wide in an I’m king of the world type gesture. Truthfully he has minimal responsibility and Poppy is constantly cutting his shifts, but it’s still something to be proud about. “You get more and more fascinating every day.” He knows there’s no real reason to continually compliment her considering he has no shot with her, but it’s an easy habit they’ve fallen into. “I’m going to be completely honest, I don’t know where any of that is,” Naveen laughs, proving all too quickly that he certainly is not the king of this place.

She couldn’t help but laugh at how quickly he went from “king” to knowing absolutely nothing about his job. In most people the quality would be annoying, but for some reason it was almost endearing from Naveen. He was just such a yutz sometimes, it was almost adorable. “Guess I’ll also be picking up supplies for your ‘worst employee of the month’ trophy.” She teased, still laughing as she walked away and into the rows of craft and art supplies. Luckily, it wasn’t too hard to find what she needed. “Why exactly are you working in a craft store anyway?” She called out, sure he could hear her. “Doesn’t exactly seem like your scene. Not that any form of labor seems like your thing, but you know what I mean.”

To say that Naveen is a bad employee would be an incredible understatement. Ever since deciding nearly six months ago that he should try making some money on his own, hes been bouncing around from shop to shop at a somewhat alarming rate, since no one wants to put up with him for too long. Poppy, however, refuses to hire him and he has yet to take the hint that he should bow out and save her the trouble, which is how he finds himself behind the counter at the Out of the Box Crafts Store. Looking up as the bell above the door rings, a broad grin lights up his face as he notices the familiar blonde. “Well if it isn’t my favourite girl,” Naveen grins, leaning against the counter and dropping the impulse items he’d been half-heatedly stocking. A better employee would probably be concerned with continuing to work rather than focusing all his attention on the blonde, but no one has any pretenses about what type of employee Naveen actually is. “Got big plans for an art project, or did you just stop by to see my beautiful face?” // @charliemunk·

“Jesus you still work here?” She rolled her eyes, her usual response to his enthusiastic greetings. She may have already been aware that he would probably be there, but she’d never tell him that, he gave her a hard enough time without admitting to bumping into him willingly. “I’m a crafting machine, didn’t you know?” She joked, strolling up to the counter. Chip was anything but crafty, she’d never really had the patience to commit to any project. Strange, considering how she’s willing to focus on other things that are known to be far less relaxing. Like trailing cheating boyfriends, but scrap booking was out of the question. “I’m looking for photo supplies. And poster board. Maybe some markers, too.”

i think he’s an idiot. i constantly have an urge to punch him in the face. but i aslo really like him. i mostly just really like him, i guess. @pascalchamele

“uh, ’cuz you deserve to have some actual fun?” he answered back, as if it were obvious. sure, a club wasn’t necessarily his sort of scene either but it was pride, why not let loose for a little if not for just the night. “ah, ah, ah! not so fast!” pas exclaimed in a teasingly chastising tone, holding onto the blonde’s shoulders before she had the chance to leave right then, beginning to move them both towards the bar. “we just got here! let’s get a lil booze in ya, shall we? it’ll be good.”

chip gave him a look that cleary said she questioned his definition of “actual fun”. “fine. but only because i like free alcohol.” she agreed, seeming reluctant though she didn’t fight him as he used her shoulders to guide her to the bar. this may have not been her scene, but being with pascal was hardly ever a bad time.
