I read once that the quickest way out of the maze was "Straight and Fast". That's been a quote I've loved from a book I refused to finish for a very long time. I didn't want to know how it ended because I knew that it wouldn't end the way I wanted it to. I was forced to read it all the way through by the one person who could ask me to walk through fire and I would do it with a smile. I'm glad that I did; the book would've been far too sad if I hadn't. Death is sad, but someday it will smile at us all. I just hope that when He finally comes for me I can smile back...

"You only lose what you hold on to" A sad but true statement; it isn't until you think you've lost it all that you find what little you have left to lose. When everything else is gone and hope is all that remains, choose wisely in your decisions to hold on to it or to let it slip away. That is a decision that you can never take back. There was a day when I thought I had it all, but that day has passed. Even when the pain fades the scars won't. The pain will fade. The regrets will fade. The memories will fade. But the scars left never will. I carry them proudly for knowing that I was lucky enough to have loved and been loved back. However brief it was; it was and will always be worth it...
