Welp let’s see if I can remember…
Ghost AU. One of my darker sonic aus. Death. So much death. Big ollllll haunted land with the worst vibes and people kept building shit on it. Including a big ol university/college. And since the shitheads behind said co construction KNEW…THAT SO MANY HAD DEATHS HAD HAPPEN3D ON THAT SPOT. they made the courses dirt cheap and handed out free tuitions. Basically BEGGING people to study here.
Since at this point in time in the story, the rogues, while still holding a lot of their history with pride, were kinda trying to do more with their lives and make decent money without risking getting arrested. Wave had become super busy with a start-up, Storm had been fighting health struggles and juggling a lot of odd jobs. And then there’s Jet. He got pushed by the two to give this place a shot.
Of course he went for one kf their sport course, but was….oddly interested, when he noticed they actually had their airboarding as apart of their schooling. I don’t not remember for the life of me kf it was a study course or just some kinda a ‘bonus’ thing. Like a ‘club’ thing, I frankly don’t remember. Thinking now I could see him beinf kinda annoyed at this. Like it’s somehting he’s done for so long, he’s mastered it. Now just cause it’s become more mainstream suddenly a bunch of randos are trying it? Without any idea of how much is behind it?
If I were to do it now, I’d imagine he’d make no plans to touch it, juxt ignore it. Cause it’s nit like anyone there would be actually good. No one who’s done it for as long as he had. It made him laugh almost.
He WOUKD get sucked into it. Only to try and show off and ina. Way show them that this ‘sport’ had so much more then was being taught and shown and he of course marvelled at beinf the best…. Buuuut then a newbie came along and they were good. Way too good. And it drove Jet a little nuts. And they didn’t seem to take it as seriously as he did. At all. And Jet haaaated it. So what went from beinfg something he was going to ignore, he became sucked into it, obsessively.
And he was still considered good, really good but this fucker kept beating him. And treating it like a game. And everytime he’d see that silly smile or the lackadaisical attitude it drove him CRAZY. So Jet went a lil crazy with training, pushed aside EVERYTHING and tske badk his top spot in something precious to him. Something he had been doing for so long and his people had long held high. It was unbearable to see someone else that didn’t seem to care about it like he did BEATING him… he’d put off sleep. Eating, his studies. Even when the other two tried to snap him out of it, at this point it was kinda a big thing he was clinging onto.
I can’t word it right but… I hope it makes sense to why he would if things had been changing. And while they weren’t really, he would’ve felt Storm and Wave were abandoning it (THEY WERENT…). Just…yeah. It meant so much more than anyone wojld understand but it was going to extreme lengths. (HA)
Was the day of the big race. He was exhausted but after a test lap, he was confident he was going to nail it, and finally out this behind him and show everyone that he was a legend at this FOR A FUCKING REASON
Unfortunately, he messed up on the third lap and it cost him the race… and it destroyed him. He was injured but fine. But mentally he had cracked. Air boarding was… everything. His culture. His life. A huge part of his identity. And to see it like this, and little people around him knowing half of the meaning it had and just feelinf he was falling beinf on the greatest skill he had. It destoryed him.
No one seemed to notice when he walked off from the race and made his way to the very top of the university building that day…
And the worse part is Storm was there, Wave was not. It eats at them both. And causes a lot of fighting between eachother while they really blame themselves. Wave kicking at herself for not putting this new business ti the side for at least one fucking second and Storm wishing he coudlve done more when he was there and felt useless as a result.
After his death. A lot of star sports kids in the university would find themselves with massive injuries and strange accidents. Casual air boarders that left their boards alone WOUKD find them destroyed. And very rarely at night a few have claimed to see a broken figure limping across the tracks.
Lol man this is the most kf the details I could remember… haven’t touched this au in so long. So edgy LOL 💀
I hope what I was going for made sense. Just when you made those points long ago it made sense to add another layer to why the crazy obsession Jet got became so much more personal.
