Eggman Nega is the product of 200+ years of generational trauma in the Robotnik family, caused by the events on the ARK with Gerald and Maria. It rocked the family very hard, leaving Dr. Eggman emotionally neglected as a child, making him very self-centered and with a desire for power and control. This ultimately was the biggest contributor to the person that he is. He was never a "good guy," he showed signs of his dangerous personality early in his life that went completely ignored.

Eggman never became truly romantically involved with anyone but did have children, one was a one night stand (raised by her mother away from Eggman) and two were created in a lab. Eggman raised those two in a similar way that he was, and wanted his children to be like him. So the cycle repeated, and those children raised their children like Eggman raised them. High expectations and emotionally absent, with a bitterness towards the world and a need for control.

From this point onwards, no one in the family really knew how to take care of children in a healthy way. Some later descendants tried to go a different direction than Eggman, some followed his footsteps to pursue world domination. But, one thing that was consistent, was that Robotniks always lost. The family was plagued with failure and tragedy, and soon an idea formed that the family itself was cursed, and they believed it was because of something Dr. Eggman did.

Eggman Nega, over 200 years later, is born. His brother is born 3 years after him and is immediately the favorite child. Everything Nega did, his parents compared him to his brother and told him he wasn't good enough. Everyone in his family loved his brother more than him. This made Eggman Nega a very cold person. He distanced himself from the family, becoming an outcast by the time he was an adult. He learned great manipulation tactics during his life to at least keep some people happy, and this was something he used to his advantage when he needed. As cold as he is, he is very charming.
