Week 6 challenge: something that represents a part of my culture or lifestyle.

It is.. Rice! I love rice, I eat rice everyday, I can’t live without rice, rice is my favourite food. Nothing’s gonna change my love for rice.

When I was a kid my mom said this all the time: “dalam sebutir nasi ada sejuta keringat petani” it means: every grain of rice contains a million farmers’ sweat. So we can’t waste any of it. Then I imagined that there were this little farmers pleading me to finish my meal. *nomnom*

Poor patatouille just wants a hot bath. But this is not a sauna! 🐥

Week 5 challenge: a piece that represents a hero

Sometimes a small act of kindness can mean the world to somebody. Quoting Michael Jackson “If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make that change”

In life, I have met a lot of these strangers that offered their time and help, wanting nothing in return.. I will never know their name, but I will remember their good deeds and hopefully I can have an opportunity to be like them too.

This project will start on March 1st. This is a long term project, more or less in 2 months time. First submission will be on April 1st

The chosen color scheme is Neutral. you can only use these colors when illustrating the cards, but you can always color few shades darker or lighter depends on your needs, you can also mix the colors within the palette.

The chosen layout is layout #4.

Here is the template and the measurement you need to arrange your composition.

**PLEASE NOTE: **You do not have to only draw within the border area. Your illustration can spill out onto the edges of the card, as a blur will be applied to the outer area. Just make sure that any major detail is focused on the inner area.

all final edits will be done by @blank-and-blank and @chaoticsharkduck . We have the psd file and will be committing the changes once all final illustrations have been submitted. The templates that have been posted are only for you to plan your illustration around.

for those of you confused about printed dimensions: the card itself is 7cm in width and 12 cm in length. Recommended resolution is 300DPi minimum

How to take clean photos of your artwork:

Either

- scan your work at 300 dpi. you may have to play around with the contrast level (lower it and increase the black points) if you want a lot of detail included and then lift the whites in post editing.

3rd week’s challenge: a piece that highlights the greatest time of my life. For me it’s growing up; we make mistake, we learn, we take risks, we fall, get up and try again. I hope that I’m still growing everyday.

I intended to create a simple series that could be combined and separated by its layout. And turns out, it wasn’t so simple. I struggled in every steps, and when everything’s done, I just realized that I forgot to draw socks on the children. *internal screaming* 😱 so I will just.. keep them socksless
