Contemplating shifting my Main Universe into something a little less realistic and more supernatural/fantasy based, but Iâm not sure if I wanna do that to my true main world or make YET A N O T H E R alternate universe where these things exist.....
Usually trying to force my world in any direction backfires or just doesnât work so maybe I should just leave it up to the Cosmic God who Decides My Daydreams.
Some more fantasy would be pretty cool though...(hint hint Cosmic God)
i Definitely donât post here enough so hereâs a spongebob thing for my internship loll
do you guys ever make a âcrashâ paraworld because you need a little change but eventually go back to your years-deep worlds and abandon ship on your mini world ?
I love the idea of calling it a âcrash worldâ.....sounds better than simply âalternative universeâ. But yeah, I definitely do this.
something about daydreaming in a bathroom hits differently
Ooooooof Hell yeeeeessssssss

once my family got robbed. while i was safely daydreaming about a successful violinist in my room, all music incorporated and low lights. i didn't notice at all. welcome to maladaptive daydreaming.
I was having an intense daydreaming session to one of the Harry Potter films at about 2am, and didnât notice two young guys break into my dads garage, where he keeps a bunch of expensive mini car models and stuff.
Thankfully our neighbour was coming home from his 21st bday party at that same time and heard them. He caught one guy, but the other got away. He didnât steal anything though expect a hunting knife, but the garage was right outside my bedroom window and I heard NOTHING because of what I was doing. It could have ended up a lot worse if it wasnât for our neighbour.
Daydreaming is just sO fUn đđđ (sarcasm)
You know how some people
Find that they struggle to talk fluently if theyâre forced not to gesture with their hands?
Does anyone else have a similar thing that they canât daydream properly if they stop themselves from doing a certain thing?
Like for me, if I canât act out the daydream, even in some small way that other people probably wouldnât notice, it becomes really difficult to actually immerse myself in the daydreams.
So yeah. Anyone else?
Iâm a literature student, and a lot of the classes I am taking this year force us to think about all of these massively political and philosophical questions about the world and to have profound answers to these questions. I know I sound stuck up and privileged when I say this, but Iâm exhausted hearing about it. Itâs too much.
I can barely cope with my own reality - thatâs the whole reason I âwent MaDDâ in the first place. Constantly overthinking and brooding about the seemingly unsolvable problems of the world and being expected to have the answers is just too much to expect out of a twenty-three-year-old.
Out of anyone really.
I know theyâre important questions that need discussion, but I just need a break for a bit. Iâll come back to them when my mind isnât so overloaded.
So Iâve seen one of these posts before
And want to acknowledge that this isnât an original post idea, but I canât find the original one and donât know if any of you have seen it yet (if I find it or if someone has seen it let me know and Iâll tag/reblog the original poster)
BUT
I want you to know that you are officially free of any bad luck that may have occurred or may in the future occur due to those posts that are like âif you donât reblog XYZ bad thing will happenâ.
Those posts are awful for anyone, but especially those with anxiety issues or depression or any mental health issues really. They work to guilt you into reblogging simply so the person gets more notes, and are cruel and selfish even if they donât mean to be.
So you are officially freed from any responsibility to reblog those posts. You can choose not to reblog them, and nothing bad will happen.
Please be safe and take care of yourselves đ¤đ
I donât want to leave my bed anymore. Itâs warm and safe, and I donât have to think about reality when Iâm squashed in amongst the covers.

Quotes That Resonate With Me #1
"Rex pulled his long black coat around himself and clung to the row of lockers along the wall, waiting for the crowd to clear, wondering exactly when he had become invisible. And why. Maybe it was because the daylight world meant so little to him now."
Scott Westerfeld, 'The Secret Hour', Midnighters, p.9
-----------
As someone who daydreams for hours every day, I understand this quote a lot. The "daylight" world, better known as the "real" world, ceases to exist for most of the day. You do what you need to do to get by in it, but in the end it doesn't hold your heart like your world does.
Thinking about it, a lot of Rex's thoughts, feelings, and behaviours throughout the series are similar to those of an immersive or maladaptive daydreamer (I am the former, not the latter - precariously). It's what's on his mind most of the time, he's always doing research and reconstructing the language and history of the midnight world, it makes him feel confident and capable, and it's where he knows he fits. He has had a rough life, and it makes sense he'd dive headfirst into a mysterious, potentially dangerous world for safety and solace.
I'm not suggesting anything by saying this, simply that it might explain why he was always my favourite character. I could relate to him on some deeper levels than I was able to consciously realise back when I was 14 and first read the series.
'Midnighters' by Scott Westerfeld
Currently re-reading one of my favourite series of all time. Feeling very lonely in a fandom that seems so scattered and faded. If you've never read it, and young adult fantasy/sci-fi is your jam, then I'd highly recommend!
These aren't my copies, by the way, as the books are apparently out of print (?) and I can only read them on iBooks. Found this picture of the covers online đ
