Felicity Reddy;
felicity was quick to wave off the others comment - far from her to start being picky about an item of clothing when someone was in need. “please, don’t worry about something like that. it’s for the greater good after all.” she explained, a soft smile etching into her features as she spoke. the brunette kept a polite distance from the action, only remaining nearby just in case there was any other need for her - even if he did seem as though he had everything under control.
“of course, is it something bad?” she asked, although quickly backtracked. he wouldn’t be calling it in if it was something that the woman could just walk off and feel better with a bottle of water. “that was some good work back there - are you a doctor?” she asked once he’d returned.
//
Taking a deep breath, he shook his head as he pulled his phone out - “I sincerely hope not.” He simply said as he walked a few paces away as he called his station. Once they knew Ezra called in the emergency, he got a text message from his old co-workers/friends that they were on their way by the time he got off the phone. Walking back to the woman on the bench, he stayed in front of the girl holding herself tightly. Looking her over, he sighed a little before he looked over to the woman that helped him.
Huffing a small laugh, he shook his head. “No, I used to be a paramedic - I’m a firefighter, so I still respond to medical calls, but I’ve seen these calls a lot both as a medic and firefighter.” He explained. “Listen, thank you again for helping, and I mean what I said about your cardigan.”
Cassandra Kato;
“Someone thought there was an overdose/a broken leg. Turns out the guy was fine. We got turned right back around.” She shrugged. It happened many times. You never knew what you would get in the city. “Hey, at least i’m keeping busy. Better than sitting here.” Cassie joked. She didn’t mind it but she liked to keep busy. Kept her from her own thoughts. “You know if you want to spend time with me all you have to do is ask.” Cassie grinned. “Nothing, really. You know me. I’ve been busy with my mom.”
//
Nodding his head, he hummed. “Well, at least it wasn’t so serious. Glad to know the guy will be okay, though.” He said, eating his food while still listening to his friend - not helping the laugh that escaped him at her light burn at him. “Fair enough - but at least I was capable of going and getting us food.” He joked, sticking his tongue out at her before taking a sip of his drink. “What do you think I did. Although, we probably should hang out outside of our uniforms.” He stated but stopped talking to hear what she was telling him. “How is she doing?”
Serena Marino;
“Oh, thank you.” She smiled. Taking it from him. “I hadn’t even noticed.” Truth be told Serena felt like she was losing it lately. She had always been someone who was so organized and yet here she was forgetting things or missing small details. Her life really had changed lately and she was going through a lot. She was just going to blame it on that. “Thanks again. I feel like i’m losing everything these days.”
//
Once the other took the object, Jaxon tucked his hands in his jean pockets as he smiled down towards her. “No worries, everyone has those days.” Jaxon glanced over at the little girl and smiled to himself. “She seems precious - how old is she?” He asked, only engaging in small talk. No, he wasn’t sure if she was for small talk or company, but there were times were Jaxon was more friendly than average - and this was one of those times.
Felicity Reddy;
“you know, it would make my life a whole lot easier if they did.” felicity replied with a laugh of her own, if only her job had as easy wins as that might bring if it were the case. “maybe i will add it to the screening - we certainly don’t need two of these people at winston.” that was the last thing she needed, and far from something she even wanted to consider as to being a reality. “do you have time? i’m sure you’re very busy, and i don’t want to keep you if you’ve got better things to do than keep me company watching the bathroom door.”
//
She laughed at the slight frustration she had enough to say, are you a bathroom bandit in the screening. Then again, he couldn’t imagine the frustration she endures putting up with people’s complaints about the bathrooms. “Well, if you’d like to attach a lie detector test along with that, I know someone who’s an expert at that.” He said, half-joking. The only part he wasn’t kidding about is the fact that he knows a guy. Clearing his throat, he looked down at his phone and towards the door to see if his boss was coming. Nothing, apparently he was getting stood up by his boss—the unfortunate truth of Jaxon’s life. “Nope, I’m completely free and at your disposal.” He said, looking back at the other, holding out his hand. “I’m Jaxon.”

Everleigh Moore;
Everleigh was rushing toward the hospital, already late for her shift at the hospital. Everything had gone wrong for her that morning. Her alarm didn’t go off, her shower water was freezing cold, she hadn’t had anything in the refrigerator for breakfast, and she couldn’t find her work badge. That’s how she found herself, half jogging, half running toward the hospital. As if her day couldn’t get any worse, she tripped over a crack in the sidewalk, falling head first down onto the cement. A slight cry left her lips from impact, as she turned over to sit on her butt to assess the damage. She heard a voice hovering over her, and her eyes scanned up to look at him. “Uhh… yeah, yeah, I’m okay,” she gulped, seeing a tear in her scrub pants where she was bleeding.
//
Gently placing a hand between her shoulder blades, he looked down towards where her jeans ripped. “Well, the good news is you don’t have to decapitate your leg.” He made a light joke. “Sorry, I used to be a paramedic - my car isn’t too far away, and I have a first aid kit in my glove department.” Ezra started with a small offer. “If you would like, I can clean that up for you.” The man was off duty, but that didn’t mean he stopped caring about people’s safety and health. Then again, he was convinced that even if he never became the first responder, Ezra wouldn’t be that person just to ignore her if she had fallen. “You should be fine, but it should also be clean and keep it from getting affected.”
Katherine Vargas;
“hmm!” kat hummed in response, a bit of a satisfied glow about her. “that’s what i like to hear.” she grinned, picking the rag up off the bar and tossing it underneath. “in a completely humble kind of way, of course.” she gave him a quick wink. she straightened up, turning to go grab him a glass. “never a bother for a jack and coke. a vodka soda, maybe…” kat teased, reaching her hand under the bar to grab the bottle of jack daniels. she grabbed a scoop of ice, filling the glass. “so, if it isn’t my beautiful face or unparalleled charm…” she began, grabbing the bottle of jack to pour over the ice. “what brings you by? calling it an early day?” wouldn’t be the first time. kat topped the drink off with the coke, letting the fizz settle down a little before sliding it across the bar.
//
Jaxon could only laugh at the other’s remark - if nothing else, at least the bartender is genuinely adorable. He watched the other’s movements as she started to make his drink - though his attention was still on her as she spoke up again. Glancing up at her as he folded his hands together. When the drink was pushed over to him, he wrinkled his nose and loosely cupped his hands around the glass. “Something of the opposite. Just waiting for my partner.” Though as he thought about it, he realized how often he was able to complete his duties early. It seems as if there were endless cases that need to be worked. Taking a sip of his drink, it was one of the best Jack & Cokes he’s ever tasted. Granted, it wasn’t hard to make it, but sometimes some found it hard to find a good balance between Daniel and Coke. “Can’t remember the last time I got a proper day off.” He admitted, looking back up at the other.
“How about yourself? Do you often work nights? Or does this place consume your night plans?” He asked, generally curious.
Felicity Reddy;
felicity was not used to this sort of thing - she had been pretty lucky when it came to it, having not been stood on the sidelines to too many incidents like this. she wasn’t the sort of person to know how to respond. sure, she could try and offer water, but knowing what to do to help properly? was out of her wheelhouse. “of course, try this.” she started, immediately pulling her cardigan from her shoulders and balling it in her hands. “is she going to be okay? can i do anything?”
Taking the balled-up cardigan from the stand-byer, he smiled his thanks and carefully placed it under the other’s head. Ezra still had to make sure that he didn’t stop any of her movements, and no matter how many cases he’s had where he had to help people when they were going through seizures, he treats every patient like it’s his first and deals with it with ‘delicate’ hands. Soon, the other’s shaking lessened, and he knows that it will stop sooner rather than later. Continuing to hold her, he glanced up to the other women. “She’ll be alright if this happens to her often- she’ll be perfectly fine.” He stated - and if not, he had to call it in. “Thank you for lending me your cardigan - I’ll be sure to wash it and give it back to you.” Though Ezra didn’t move, he stayed by the girl’s side, continuing to hold her hand and softly placing his hand on the back of her head, and she eventually came out of it.
Once she came to, she tried to try to sit up immediately, but Ezra stopped her. “Not a good idea, ma’am. Take things slow; you’re in good hands.” He stated, helping her to sit up slowly. “Have you ever had a seizure attack before?” The girl shook her head. He took a deep breath and helped the girl to her feet and over to the bench he was previously sitting on.
“Do you mind staying with her?” He asked the other woman that lent him his cardigan. “I am going to call this in.”
Felicity Reddy;
so perhaps having those who worked at the district living in the towers was going to pay off after all - at least, if it made her job a little easier and helped to bring her a little peace. “i truly have no idea. i thought all of our residents went through screening to avoid this sort of thing, but maybe one of them has brought in a bad roommate.” she suggested with a small laugh, though the problems that would arise for her if that was the case was not something she wanted to be thinking about. “are you going to stake them out? is this a full under cover operation we’re starting?”
Giving the other a friendly grin, she shrugged slightly. “I’m sure most won’t put “I’m a bathroom bandit” on their resumes - or bring it up during a screening question.” He lightly joked, although he couldn’t help at her evident excitement about doing a stakeout. “Most definitely - although I’ll save you from bad burritos and car talk stakeouts.” He chuckled as he looked down at his phone to see if his boss sent him a message about being on their way or running late, but nothing. “So, shall I come back at another time - or shall we start this stakeout?”

Serena Marino;
Open Starter @winstonstarters
Serena decided she needed out of the apartment. Just get out with Lydia for the day. She wished she could bring her daycare but that wasn’t fair to the young girl. Truthfully it was just her daily struggle to feel like she wasn’t failing but she knew the more time she spent with the toddler the better. Strapping her into the stroller and taking off for the park. Once there she laid a blanket down for them. Setting her niece on the blanket with some toys on it. She sat across from her watching. When she noticed someone coming up to her she squinted to get a better look because of the sun. “Hello?”
//
It was hard to call his ‘days off’ actually days off - they were just his downtime until he headed back to his office or wherever he was operating out from. So, he chose to go to the park and eat his lunch, and simply people watch. Though his eyes settled on a woman pushing a stroller with a small girl, and the only reason why he became invested was that he observed an object fall off the stroller and waited to see if the woman realized it or not. As she set up a spot on the blanket, he knew he had to get up, grab the object and walk it back to the woman.
“I think you’ve dropped this.”
Cassandra Kato;
“It was a bust. We ended up being sent right back. Didn’t even get to the scene.” Cassie shrugged. “I hate those calls it’s such a waste.” It was a waste of time for everyone really. At least she didn’t have to restock the ambo though that was always nice. Watching as he took out the food. “Thanks again for getting us food. I’m starving.”
//
Listening to the other talk about the bust - making a disgusted sound, he wrinkled his nose as he looked up at Cassie. “Boring. What was the call on anyways?” He asked, now curious if someone called medics just too soon or if someone could have purely faked the call. “One thing I don’t miss about being a medic. The fake out calls.” He stated with a sly grin as he settled in his seat. “My pleasure, Kato - after all, if this is how we get to spend some time together, then I’m glad I was able to get us food and that your call was a bust.” Ezra smiled, being sincere.
“So, what’s been going on with you?”
Felicity Reddy;
felicity was in her own world for the most part. she liked to break up her day where she could - sitting in her office could become consuming, the four walls feeling like they might be creeping in towards her if she was in there too long. and that was what she’d done - given herself a break and a chance to nip out and treat herself to a refreshing lemonade. watching someone fall to the sidewalk hadn’t been a part of that she’d planned for, but approached cautiously. “are they okay?” she asked the gentleman who had rushed to aid. “should i call 911?”
//
The person wasn’t responding, no matter how much he was talking to them, though they began to have a seizure within seconds, so he quickly and gently laid them on their side as they held onto his hand close to them. He was sure he wasn’t preventing their abrupt movements, but he also didn’t want to pull away to disrupt the seizure. “Not yet, but can you get anything I can put under her head?” He asked, looking up to the one asking if they should call 911. Unless the seizure went on for five or more minutes, he also needed to see if she was hurt in any way. There were other factors involving the on-duty medics, but as of right now - he knew exactly what to do to keep the other safe.
Felicity Reddy;
felicity’s face almost lit up at the suggestion. “yes, please!” her hands clasped together as she finally felt like maybe there was a chance that she might get to the bottom of this mystery after all. “what do you need? a list of suspects or something? because i’m not sure i can pull that together from the list of tenants. i didn’t think anyone would be brave enough to be a bathroom bandit but i was wrong.”
//
Genuinely entertained by the other’s excitement, he laughed at the last things she said. However, he looked around the lobby before stepping slightly closer to the other. “Is there a camera nearby the bathroom in question?” He asked although he doubts it was a sure way of catching the bathroom bandit person - otherwise, he was sure they would have already seen them. “Although, I am intrigued now to see who you would list as a possible suspect.” He said, slightly narrowing his eyes. “For now, I can start with cameras - see if I can catch them on there.” Maybe he needs to pick up a hobby because apparently, he had too much time on his hands.
Christine Booth;
Admittedly, Christine should have been paying more attention to where she was walking, and she probably shouldn’t have pulled a double shift on patrol, but she just couldn’t help herself and walking close back to the apartments after finally signing off, she hadn’t realised how tired she was till it was too late and her knees buckled under her in a moment of exhaustion.
Luckily, someone had been there and helped her up. Which Christine shook off almost as soon as she was back with two feet on the ground. “I’m so sorry- I’m fine, just over worked and clumsy apparently,”
//
Helping her up, he went back to his medic days and looked her over to ensure there were no serious injuries. “No need to apologize; everyone has clumsy days.” He said, trying to make her feel a bit better. Pulling away a little, he picked up his coffee before it got knocked over. If anyone can relate to being overworked, it would be Ezra and most first responders. “Perhaps this should be your sign to take some time to relax.” Like he should be the one to offer that advice. “Mind me asking what it is that you do that has you so overworked?” Ezra settled a little, knowing now that she seemed to be physically okay.
“You sure you’re okay, though?” He asked. “You’re not bleeding anywhere?” Now Ezra wished he had his car with him, considering he always had a first aid kit in his car - just in case.

Cassandra Kato;
Cassie had asked Ezra to get them lunch before she left for a call. Knowing her friend would always come through with great food she had no doubt it would be ready for her once she got back. The call ended up being a bust though. They turned right around and went back to the firehouse. Knowing that she would beat Ezra back. Typically having to do inventory but they didn’t have to do that. She closed her door to the ambo and looked around. Walking into the firehouse she heard a voice behind her. “Is that even a question?” She grinned.
//
Ezra’s grin grew a bit more at the other’s remark - nodding his head towards the breakroom, he walked over to the room and placed the bag of food and drinks on the table. “How did the call go?” He asked, hearing her footsteps close behind him. Grapping two paper plates, he set one in front of him and one in front of Cassie. However, he stayed silent as he listened to her and handed out their food on the proper plates. There are some medic calls that even the fire engine responds to - although this previous one wasn’t one of them - which he is grateful for considering it gave him time to get their food.
