hey all! so i have a question (i don't know how many people will see this, but if you do, please help me out). i *love* female lead books. they are usually much more diverse or easy to get into for me than male lead books (i just saw a post about male-lead vs female-lead and ive read like two of the kajillion listed male-lead books versus like reading at least all but two of the female-lead books/series).

anyway, my question here is: can someone please give me recs on any type of book - male lead or female lead - that is actually entertaining? for instance, ive read the divergent series, uglies, reading mortal instruments right now, harry potter, percy jackson, the looking glass wars, the testing series, and a few others that i cant remember (in too much pain to go look thu my book box).

i would love, love, love some recs for books. lgbt+ or otherwise are appreciated!

I love it because I've been here for years (do not be fooled if you look up how old this account is, this is not my first account) and I've made many great friends because of it - including my fiancée.

I hate it because I'm poor and I never have the money, nor the time, to go watch whatever is new in theaters and I have to wait months to understand anything on my dash. And if I block the tags, my dash is basically dead.

I hate Tumblr because to me, it feels like no matter how much of a show I watch or book I read, no matter how much fanfiction I read or write for the fandom(s), no matter what I contribute, I am simply not welcome in any of the Fandom spaces.

Example: I won't name names but I had a mutual once (I do believe we are still mutuals) who I would talk to every day. They even got me into role-playing. Then they just... Stopped responding. To threads, to messages, to anything that involved me. I still see them on my dash every day and I just... It feels like I try so, so hard but will never be good enough. Not for friends, not for fandoms, and not for a lot of things in life.

Also, since coming back to this blog barely even a week ago, I've had to unfollow a lot of people. Why? Because they made it clear that if I expressed interest in x fandom, I would get direct, unmasked hate for it. This website used to be where I went to relax. And even now, after taking such a long break from it, I feel as if my safe space has turned into nothing but a place reeking of toxicity. I sincerely do not know what to do in this situation.

I saw a post about a week ago talking about how Mal from Descendants has NPD. the poster's source was, in no way, a scientific or scholarly article on it. while I'm fine with people having headcanons about characters, this person was rationalizing their hate for Mal with NPD.

the article in question said that people with NPD aren't capable of love, are evil, and other vile, vile things. as someone with NPD, I would to let y'all know that that is utter Bullshit.

I am capable of love. I am not evil. I am not manipulative. I do not think the world/universe revolves around me 24/7 (FYI, if you took the time to talk to someone with mental illnesses, you'd know that shit is called a "flare up" but go off ig).

I don't have a link or remember who posted it. but someone posted a bunch of screenshots from Twiiter talking about how Autism was treated the Same Way BPD, NPD. Schizophrenia, ASPD, etc are currently being treated up until not that long ago!
