BaekHyun opened the door to the servant’s room and peered in. ChanYeol was seated cross legged on top of his bed because he couldn’t sleep, and when he saw the prince smiling and waving at him, his eyes were wide open.
“What are you doing here?” ChanYeol said when he was next to him. It seemed like there weren’t any guards around; well, it was three in the morning.
“I can’t sleep,” whispered BaekHyun with a pouty face, “Do you wanna chat with me?”
“My lord, it’s three in the morning, I don’t think…”
“Come on. My father isn’s around and today it’s external surveillance. Let’s go!”
Soon, ChanYeol was being pulled out of his room to the next crown heir’s without resisting too much. Anyway, he couldn’t sleep either, and BaekHyun talked too much so at least they’ll have some fun.
“Now that I think about it, why were you awake? I thought I’d find you snoring,” said BaekHyun once they were on his bed, in the same position as ChanYeol was a few minutes ago.
“Well, at the end I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t sleep,” whispered ChanYeol with a soft smile that BaekHyun soon imitated.
In less than a month, the young boy would become the maximum authority of that kingdom, and ChanYeol was among the very few who agreed with it. BaekHyun could be impulsive and even childish, but he had the kindest heart ever. ChanYeol had been suffering a lot in the past, and the prince was the only one who offered him his friendship instead of humiliating him as many others did. That’s why he felt affection towards the prince and wished him the best.
“You know, when I become king, I’ll name you my personal advisor. I don’t know what it means but you will be one!” happily said BaekHyun, but his eyes opened wide when he realized he had screamed it. Both boys stared at the door with fear, but then BaekHyun started laughing so hard that ChanYeol had to cover quickly his mouth with one of his hands.
“They’ll hear us,” said ChanYeol, containing himself from laughing too.
Both smiled at each other when ChanYeol pulled back his hand from BaekHyun’s mouth. Their trust had reached a level where ChanYeol was allowed to do these kind of things, at least when they were alone. And he liked that; in fact, he liked everything related to BaekHyun. He couldn’t help it, just like now when he was cuddling BaekHyun back when the latter shyly approached at him and hugged ChanYeol tightly.
“You should stay here tonight,” said BaekHyun against ChanYeol’s chest, and the taller was begging for BaekHyun to not hear his loud heart beatings. He wanted to say no, because if someone found them he wouldn’t have a very nice destiny. But at the end he acceded to it; anyway, he would regret more seeing BaekHyun’s sad face than a punishment.
