Apparently Autin Butler's not gonna be in Luca Guadagnino's AMERICAN PSYCHO. I wonder if Guadagnino would consider Armie Hammer? Its a rare case where the undeserved association of actor & violence might serve the project well. Looks like i'm not the only one to think so :

l've thought about this so many times, ever since the first rumors about the project started circulating. I find it really spot-on, especially for the message it could send to the public. It would be a huge hurdle, but it could also be a strong point in favor of both. Even though I have to admit the idea has always scared me a bit, that's exactly what cinema is all about.

tbh i was trying to figure out who would be able to get Sony to rerelease CMBYN for its 9th year anniversary & only Luca came to mind, which made me wonder if Luca was invested in fixing Armie's public perception more as a filmmaker than as a friend. And, you know, why not wait for the 10th year anniversary - was there a pressing urgency to put CMBYN back in cinemas this summer for some other reason?

(Uwe Boll's CITIZEN VIGILANTE stands to benefit from any goodwill this re-release inspires towards Armie's BUT he doesnt hv the clout or connections needed to pull this off. So that made me think maybe Luca pulled some strings because he has a project in mind for Armie. Who knows!)
