If you thought some of the others felt guilt or fear after you confessed, Wild feels even more of that.

His mind goes to Mipha, to the Zora armor she had left him, to the person he was before and would never be, because he was someone else after losing everything.

He leaves with an excuse, telling you that you’d talk about this again in another moment.

It doesn’t sit right with him, leaving you alone and he knows it hurt, but he simply couldn’t be around you or answer in that moment.

He’s another one who needs some help from the others, Time and Twilight are the obvious options.

Actually, he didn’t even have to go to Twilight, for his fellow hero knew something was up and was the one to ask him.

It’s a long talk. He talked, cried, and listened to the advice that was offered.

It was exhausting, but his chest and mind felt lighter, and so he went to find you this time.

He decided to explain his doubts to you, his fears and mention what made him hesitate. He wanted to be honest with you, because you deserved it.

In the end, he wanted to try. He was in love with you, too, and knew that Mipha would hate to see him refuse his own happiness because of memories from the past.

He has a pretty good poker face, but you’ll be able to notice his surprise because of how long it’ll take him to fully understand your words.

The smile that appears on his face is the softest you’ve ever seen him make.

He responds to your confession with honesty and care and, if you pay close attention, you can even notice a shine in his good eye.

If he’s holding back a few tears, that’s something that doesn’t matter at that moment.

The thought of being with you warms his heart, melts his worries away as he holds your hand in his.

He’ll insist on staying together, a bit farther from the group, for a while longer. Most of them are heroes, so your absence shouldn’t cause much trouble, right?

It’s because he wants to spend more time with you without the others commenting on why you’re closer. He won’t shy away from showing off your recent relationship, after all.

But it’s also because he doesn’t want Warriors or any of the others noticing the faint blush on his cheeks. Hylia knows he would never hear the end of it.

Unlike some of the younger heroes, he doesn’t have a very obvious reaction to your confession. He looks calmer, but his heart is still racing that very night whenever he thinks about you.

Also, he’d suggest keeping the detail of who confessed a secret from the boys, he knows at least some of them had a bet going on.

Asks you to repeat what you said. Pretty silly, considering how he has pretty good hearing.

So you repeat your confession, slowly so he can process your words.

Even then, he needs a moment for his mind to work.

You can see the moment when it clicks for him, his cheeks turn darker as his smile widens before he wraps his arms around you, giving you the warmest hug you’ve ever had.

He can’t even begin to explain how happy he was, just as he couldn’t fully ignore the small seed of fear inside of him.

He had already lost someone he loved, had given his heart and ended up hurt because of it… But, that didn’t mean he’d let his past experiences blind him and hurt you by rejecting you when he felt the same.

Honestly, he should thank Time, and maybe Malon. When he noticed his feelings for you, he had confided in his predecessor and told him about his doubts and fears.

He deserved to be happy, the other hero told him from his own experience. Because no matter his past, he shouldn’t try to avoid what makes him happy.

And, in this case, you’re the one who would make him happy. With your smiles and presence by his side, he can slowly learn to let go of his doubts.

He knows that, even though many years have passed and he’ll never see her again, a certain someone would want him to be happy and let go, and that’s what he’ll do.

This guy would freeze, not even blinking for an amount of time that has you more concerned about him than being rejected.

If you confess while taking a walk with him or similar, he’s definitely going to trip and end up with his face full of dirt.

Once he unfreezes and fully understands what you just said, his face brightens immediately.

He’ll ask you if you’re being honest, it’s not that he thinks you’d lie to him, but he’s a bit insecure.

Reassure him a few times that yes, you’re in love with him. And you’re still waiting a verbal answer.

Has the decency to look flustered, and tries to calm himself down so he can accept your confession properly.

If you don’t know about some of the bigger dangers of being around him yet, such as monsters being after his blood even more than those in other eras, he’ll tell you.

He’s scared, of course, he doesn’t want to ruin this relationship… but you deserve to know before something bad happens.

He cares more about your safety than his own feelings, and wants you to understand that it can be quite dangerous if you’re in his era.

If you decide to stay with him regardless of his warning, he’ll be more than happy to accept you by his side, vowing to protect you.

His first reaction is to tell you to stop joking, the second is to deny it.

No, you can’t be in love with him, it’s some kind of trick, he repeats to himself.

It’s going to be rough, it feels like he’s outright rejecting you in a horrible way, but if you know him enough, you’ll notice that his reaction and words aren’t driven by disgust, but fear.

He’s scared of loving, of losing, of having a weakness. He’s a veteran in many ways, including tragedies that would have a place in a book.

If you fight for your feelings, insisting that you love him and won’t stop doing so, that he doesn’t mean anything he’s saying and he’s just afraid… you’ll manage to break his wall.

The wall he built over the pass of the years crumbled, as he let his heart win and wrapped his arms around you.

He’ll tell you that you might regret it, that he doesn’t know if he can be a good lover, but you hug him back.

His body trembles, and you can feel his tears soaking your clothes, but you don’t comment on it. He needs time, and you’ll give it to him.

Your relationship will need some work, but you’ll worry about it together, when he puts himself back together with the help of your gentle words.

He promises to try his best, for you, for himself, and for those who cared about him.

You didn’t answer right away, but he knew you were listening to him. The hero waited, with a patience that wasn’t usually seen as his, for you to reply. And even if you didn’t answer, he wouldn’t go away. He’d stay beside you, watching the leaves dance with the breeze for as long as you needed.

“I…” His eyes returned to you, even if you didn’t look at him as you talked. “I lost someone I really cared for.”

Your voice was rough, were you keeping yourself from crying as to avoid worrying them? He wanted to tell you how stupid that was. You didn’t have to act like that with them! But, at the same time, he understood. And because of that, he kept his voice gentle.

“I’m sorry to hear that, it isn’t easy to lose a loved one.” He spoke from experience, there was no one who hadn’t lost someone they loved at some point, it was part of life. “Do you want to talk about them?”

Legend watched as you took a deep breath, slowly shaking your head.

“That’s alright, you don’t have to talk now.” You could take all the time you needed. “Would you be okay with me touching you?”

The veteran gave you a small, understanding smile when you finally met his eyes. What a rare sight, you’d think if it happened any other day, but now, it was comforting. And so, you nodded.

His hand, to your surprise, lacked the rings he always wore as you felt him caress your head. He had kept them in his bag, so they wouldn’t bother you. Softly, gently caressing your head as he wasn’t sure if a hug would be the best way to comfort you.

And finally, that mask of yours was falling alongside the hot tears that left your eyes after waiting for so long. He let his other hand take yours, giving it a gentle squeeze to show you that he was there. He wouldn’t leave, and he would wait for you to let everything out.

Legend wasn’t the best at comforting, someone like Sky would have offered a big hug to let you cry on his shoulder, Time would have been better with his words, but he wanted to be with you and let you know how much he cared.

Even if he was awkward, or more rough with his words, he knew how hard it was. For you, he’d stop being the rude, teasing veteran to simply be someone that cared for you, no remarks and no shaming you for letting your feelings out.

He let you cry until you were too tired to lift your eyelids, and your head ended up resting on his shoulder, as his hand never stopped caressing your head.

Sometimes, it could end up being a little annoying. You weren't defenseless, you wouldn't break if he squeezed your hand a bit tighter than usual.

And so, you decided to take the lead and reach for his hand. The smithy felt so giddy he wasn't able to feel shame for the instant skip in his step.

There were moments when you'd feel one of his fingers caressing your ring finger... It was too empty, in his opinion.

"Would you mind wearing jewelry?" Four gathered his courage to ask, making you turn your head towards him.

"It depends on what type, why?" You slightly tilted your head at his nervous expression, thumb rubbing soft circles against his skin.

"No reason, just wondering." He looked away, and you took mercy on him after noticing the cute red appearing on his cheeks.

You had your suspicions, his finger didn't take long to go back to caressing yours, after all. Still, you would wait for him to mention this moment again.

Soon enough, that finger of yours wouldn't be so empty anymore. He would make sure of it.

Slowly, very slowly, you matched your footsteps with his, a hand reaching to touch the fabric of his blue cap with your fingertips. A soft pull was enough for it to be yours.

Looking back to both heroes in front of you to see if your target had noticed, your eyes found the traveler’s. You brought a finger to your lips, asking him to keep quiet with a grin that he shared for a second before acting like he didn’t see anything.

Falling a few steps behind him, you put the blue cap on top of your head, making sure it wouldn’t fall. Now, all you had to do was wait.

“We have enough potions if we get into another battle, as long as a certain someone isn’t as reckless as last time, but we should buy more if we find a village around here.” The blond looked at the champion that was walking in front of him, who looked back to answer with a shameless grin, and a chuckle followed for a reason Legend didn’t know.

Wind tilted his head, looking at the same direction as the older hero. His eyes focused on top of the veteran’s head, then on you from behind his shoulder, proudly wearing the blue fabric that belonged to someone else. He snorted.

“What? Something funny?” Legend crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow.

“No, nothing!” The sailor smiled at you before turning away.

It only took the hoarder a few minutes to notice that something was missing, as the breeze messed with his hair that should’ve been hidden inside his beloved cap.

“Wha- Where?” His hand quickly went to his head, confirming the missing possession.

Legend looked to both sides, catching the look Hyrule was sending to something behind him and following his eyes to find your playful grin.

A blue fabric caught his eyes next.

He stopped walking, forcing you to do the same to avoid crashing against him. The three others aware of the situation told the rest to leave you be, as the two of you would catch up soon enough.

“Ha-ha, aren’t you hilarious.” His voice dripped with sarcasm, but you didn’t see any anger in his eyes. “Now, give it back.” Your hands flew to protect the stolen cap.

“It’s mine now.”

“It isn’t, give it back.”

You looked at the hand that was waiting for his blue cap, then his eyes. You grinned and prepared yourself.

“Then, catch me!” You took off, running as fast as you could with a hand securing the hat to your head.

“Come back here, you thief!” Legend couldn’t contain the slight amusement in his voice as he chased you around.

The two of you were careful enough to not run too far away from the group, but it lasted for quite some time before the veteran finally got his possession back.

“Go bother the captain next time, I don’t have time for your games.” He huffed, placing his cap on his head, where it belonged.

“You don’t? Then why didn’t you use your pegasus boots?”

“Shut up.”

He’ll be a little hesitant at first, dark magic is usually something he has to fight against, after all.

Won’t last long if you show that you only use it for good though!

You’re someone fighting for the kingdom, just like all of them, so you’re alright in his book, dark magic or not.

Enjoys talking about magic with you and Legend. He knows a fair bit himself, but who knows? He might learn some new spells that don’t need to be done with dark magic specifically.

Once you make it clear that the darkness in your magic doesn’t fog your judgement, he doesn’t see it as different from normal magic.

The two of you might team up often. Between your spells and his own, no monster will last in the battlefield.

Just like Hyrule, he’ll be unsure about how to react, but it also doesn’t last long.

As the veteran of the group, he has dealt with different types of magic and people, and he understands that the nature of one’s magic doesn’t have to be the same as their own.

So, as long as you don’t do anything reckless, he won’t do anything against your dark magic.

What’s more, he’d love to ask you about any items or interesting spells you know!

He probably won’t use them, but some knowledge is never bad.

He’ll also defend you from some of the others who dislike dark magic.

Once again, just because dark magic is your specialty, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad person.

You won’t have his full trust, that’s something you need to earn, but he won’t treat you differently.

The chosen hero doesn’t have as much experience as many of the others, but he cares more about you than your magic.

You’re a good person fighting to save your home? That’s great!

He’ll have to be careful when handling the master sword around you, just in case.

He finds magic interesting, so feel free to show him some small tricks you can do.

Similar to Legend, he will defend you if others say anything about the nature of your magic.

Might asks you some questions to see if there are any similarities between your magic and the one his Zelda is learning how to wield properly.

Maybe the two of you can talk about it if you end up in his era!

Honestly, he can only compare your magic to Ghirahim’s or maybe Demise’s, but you’re obviously not like them.

He’s cautious, but doesn’t mind giving you a chance.

Dark magic is both dangerous and powerful, most times (if not always) it means sacrifice. He wonders how much you had to sacrifice to specialize in this type of magic.

He keeps his eye on you. Because he doesn’t fully trust you or because he’s worried about you? Only he knows.

Feel free to talk to him about your magic. He may not understand everything, but he can lend you an ear.

He’d rather you don’t use your magic too much, dark magic can consume someone rather quickly.

If this isn’t something that could happen to you, whatever the reason, tell him so. This way he won’t be as protective.

Conflicted. It would depend on the real source of your magic.

He himself has an item brimming with dark magic, but it’s twili magic.

If you confirm that it’s not magic to harm anyone else but the monsters trying to bring ruin to the kingdom, then he will give you his trust.

He wonders how similar your magic is to the one he’s seen and experienced.

He prefers to avoid most of it though, like most magic items.

So, even if he doesn’t mind it, he’d rather not have much to do with anything concerning your use of magic.

Tries not to say much if there’s a discussion about dark magic, he doesn’t want to slip up about Wolfie.

Talking about the wolf, you definitely knew it was him the moment you saw the large animal appear in the camp.

The magic in his pendant is hard to miss.

Much more conflicted than Twilight, due to personal reasons.

Cia’s dark magic will forever stay in his mind when it’s mentioned, even if he knows you are nothing like her.

It was a hard time, and all he could see and feel was her magic around the battlefield.

Then there were the dark versions of himself, made of his foolish actions and her magic.

It’ll take quite a while, and his trust in you may be shaky, but he’ll try to ignore his bias against it if he can see you’re a good person.

You are allies, and he doesn’t want to let his past struggles blind him.

If you avoid using much of your magic around him, with battles being an exception, he’d be grateful.

As long as you remain as someone fighting by his side, he’ll do his best to get along with you.

He may be a little unsure about how to feel about your magic, but will soon compare it to the one that lets Twilight change forms.

Your magic is nothing like the one he’s dealt with him. It may be dark, but it isn’t heartless.

Once he gets a bit more used to it, he’s definitely going to ask you a few questions!

Both to satiate his own curiosity and because he thinks his Zelda would also be interested.
