Just playing around making a fake book cover on Canva for a break from writing my next novel, as pictured. Last monthās novel, Desire Beyond Death, went well. Iām letting it sit for a month before I come back to it and seeing what my friends thinking of the first draft. In the meantime, Iāve moved on to another city in Tirenia, and another couple. I guess Iāll post some of the more fun prompts from Preptober about it here and there for inspiration :)
Finished my draft last night, just after midnight. What a lovely, refreshing, reaffirming Nano this has been for me, reminding me that I have more stories to tell than just the one I have been bashing my head against for the last 15 years.

Todayās #NaNoWriMo Preptober prompt is Dream Book Blurb. Hereās what I came up with originally, but it might change a little as I progress:
Dante Selvaggio is a man plagued by nightmares. His whole life, he has dreamt scenes from a past life: one where he failed to protect Donna Ilaria, the daughter of his lord, from the predations of the vampire Cesare dāTempesta. Hunted by inquisitors for his innate ability to shapeshift, he has found peace in the solitary life of a woodsman, maintaining the extensive forested domain of the Duke Oscuro.
Lady Violetta Oscuro, accompanied by her fiance, flees to her familyās seaside residence in the sun-kissed town of Cotronai to recover from a sudden illness which has left her weak and fearful of falling asleep. When her sickness does not abate, she fears she has fallen victim to some unholy monster, and summons Dante to task him with defending the grounds of the villa against the intruder.
When Dante answers the call, he finds himself confronted with a sight he has dreaded seeing all his life: Violetta is the spitting image of Ilaria, and her fiance is none other than the Conte Cesare dāTempesta himself, back from the dead.
But is this Cesare really the monster Dante sees in his sleep?
