Okay, but when y'all talk about the Dursleys, they're terrible people who constantly abused Harry psychologically and didn't tell him about his origin.

But if you think about it reaaally hard. Harry didn't become an Obscurial. They didn't love him like they should've, as his family, but they did care for him. Even if it was only Petunia, who saw her sister in Harry. She might've been jealous of Lilly but she never hated her. That's why she took in Harry and tried to give him what she was able to, without Vernon or his family going against it.
