Reposted from @tourmalinehairsalon What a week! *Monday we signed the lease for this new beauty and scheduled the Board of Cosmetology for 7/19. *Tuesday everyone in NYLA received an email from the city of Allentown that confused all of us. *Thursday the city showed up with the building inspector and the fire marshal. Within a short period of time we were told we could no longer operate out of that building. I made some phone calls to Lower Macungie Township, the Board of Cosmetology inspector, my new landlord and the best friends a girl could ask for. I packed up my salon suite in a matter of hours, moved all of my stuff over to my new space and got to work. *Friday was lots of work, organizing, cleaning and a small freak out because I realized the change was happening and I had 3 days to get everything ready. *Saturday was a quick cameo appearance @revolt_hair_studio followed by more cleaning, arranging, fixing chairs and stations, spackling. *Sunday we painted and rearranged some furniture. *Monday final touches and cleaning... I even dropped and broke a crystal (that's a good thing!) *TODAY (Tuesday) was inspection and we PASSED!! Soooooo, this happened & my sincerest apologies to everyone I have not gotten back to recently. @bran_cakes aka @tourmalinehairsalon and I have been working out the details of the lease of the our new spot for the past month. We finally signed the lease on the 14th- last Monday. The following day, we learned that were multiple code & zoning violations at the building which #tourmalinehairsalon was located and that the city, environmental, and fire marshal would all be convening for a meeting at the location on Thursday, the 17th. Just before noon, the same day, we were told the building would be shut down and all occupants needed to vacate immediately. Short story long, we, along with lots of help from friends & family had to pack up & move the entire business & it's belongings to our newly leased 1852 sq/ft salon that we did not yet even have a key to! We got keys & the business occupancy license the same day & moved our cosmo boards inspection up from July 19th to tomorrow!
