As much as I love drawing people, drawing their hair has been a bit of a puzzler for me. So I decided to try out a different style to figure out how on earth the draw that really cool brushed-over-the-side look that has vexed me for so long. But besides this life long rivalry, I'm diggin the results.

Such a cute couple of sleepy kitties. After a crazy month of starting a new job, moving to a new apartment and traveling to several different state. It was a nice change of pace to sit down and do some illustration and hand lettering.

I decided for my first Saturday off in a long long time, I was going to do the things I haven’t had the chance to; work in Illustrator and Flash, animate something, and do some hand lettering.  I’ve been drawn to this quote since I saw it on Pinterest and it’s something I need to keep in mind as of late. I’ve been doing a lot of dreaming lately and I need to start making them actual plans.

I decided to make a thing in After Effects following a Video Co-Pilot tutorial.  I definitely learned some new things and I forgot how much I like After Effects. :)

A Happy Birthday Gift to a dear friend of mine.

Not the best photoshop work, but it was super fun!

So.  This started out as a quick doodle I was going to leave on a friend’s computer to find upon returning from getting food.  An hour and a half later, this is the best digital painting I think I’ve ever done.  I used several different brushes and all of the settings.  Something I’ve never really had the patience for in most projects.  I know the stem is wrong for an eggplant but this was never intended to make it past the “stupid-drawing-with-silly-face-just-for-giggles” stage.  Sometimes stepping out of the norm can be very beneficial.  i never thought I would learn so much from an eggplant.

The Little Things is an animated short that is comprised of everything I learned during my undergrad at the University of Saint Francis. Writing, I built this project from the ground up from storyboards, character models, rigging, and texturing to lighting, compositing, and aninimation.
