So right now your focus in on COTL. but i was curious if you have other plot ideas. How do you balance that out with updating your current fic? I personally have a problem with overloading my schedule with lots of plot bunnies.

I'm asking because COTL is a behemoth with its own universe of lore and fleshed out characters. You mentioned once that it's been years in the making. because the moment i think of something new, my brain cells start running away with it

I generally start writing the moment I think of something just so it gets out of my head. I've written long fics before but I feel you're working off a different kind of energy reserve.

Either way, I love COTL and the way you set expectations, raise the stakes, and deliver the payoff is seriously cathartic. The back-and-forth timeline narrations are also god-tier!

I'm so absolutely overwhelmed by your kind words and I know I've said this before but I always do a little jump for joy when I get an email about a new fic update or comment from you!

So I do have a million other plot ideas that I have fleshed out and then kept to the side because I barely find time to work on COTL tbh. I took a break from COTL in march and ended up writing Housing for Young Families, which was really refreshing tbh. But I have many ideas for (shorter!) fics, and I'll get to them once COTL is done. But it'll take a while for COTL to be done, because the story is nearly done but we have Wille POV in three parts, which is gonna reveal a host of other secrets.

Since you're one of my fave authors I'll also let you in on a secret: COTL Part 2 is coming which is gonna be focussed on Kronprins Wilhelm and how he finds his own Simon Eriksson! I can't wait to write that one lol.

Yes, I did have this story brewing in my mind for years, but did you know it started life as a yuri? But i never really got around to writing it because I didn't believe I was a good writer, but when I discovered YR and then my friend Lau encouraged me I thought I'd give it a shot. Trust me, it never meant to get this big. But COTL Simon and Wille became their own people and they're always in my head like 'are you kidding me? I'd never do that!' or 'I think this scene is important to set the context'. I don't plan on writing a lot of the stuff I do end up writing, bit well, it just appears on the doc and I'm like 'ok, I guess'. COTL takes up a lot of my waking and sleeping thoughts and I honestly don't know what I'll do with myself once it's over.

Thank you so so so much for your lovely words. I'm so happy this story of mine is resonating with so many people. I am sometimes afraid it's boring and people will get turned off, but then readers like you say kind words to me and I regain faith in my work again, which is honestly what powers my energy reserves.

Tuesday dawned bright and hot, and Simon felt a prickle sweat under his collar as he sat waiting in one of their conference rooms for the video conference to start. He wrung his clammy hands under the table as Madison, Fredrika, Ayub and Rosh settled in. Wille sat right next to him and pressed a tissue in his hands under the table.

Simon looked askance at him.

“Dab off the sweat,” Wille said in a whisper. “You need to pull yourself together, Simon.”

Simon cleared his throat and straightened up. He gently wiped the sweat from his forehead and upper lip and breathed deeply, feeling his heart calm down.
