I will still use tumblr, but I’m navigating towards using a plugin that will transfer this blogging data over to my custom website. It is currently under development and should be up and running before December 2022.

I’m currently in the coding phase which shouldn’t take too long, but what will take even longer are the 20+ topics I’d like to cover on the blog all related to Digital Media, Technology, Design & Development.

Why am I creating my own blogsite? Well, 3 major reasons:

I want full control over what I can post, and

I don’t trust companies with my data

This will be a blogsite that I can actually use for my portfolio-building

This will be a huge project so I plan on having at least 3 versions of the blog in which I will showcase here.

Sometimes, being a problem solver can work against your wishes, even if you believe thats what people want.

Here's an example:

About a week ago I had come across a post on LinkedIn about a Junior UX/UI Designer who was at a breaking point in his frustration with his job search. He was stating that he had over 60 interviews in the past 3 months alone and couldn't find the confidence to continue with his job hunt. He continues by stating how the hiring process in America is broken and for every post he sees people celebrating new jobs on the platform, he sees dozes of other with varying levels of experience struggling, sometimes for years, to find even entry-level roles.

He was frustrated. Beyond frustrated. And I knew wholeheartedly what he was going through... It sucks when you put in so much effort into something with little-to-no recognition. So, here was my initial though process..

"I completely understood where this man is coming from. Jeez, I wish I had someone tell me what I know now about job searching when I was a junior. Maybe this will make his day!"

And that was the mistake; replying back with multiple solutions instead of sympathizing with him and acknowledging the fact that, YES, this is unfair.

However, it wasn't until I noticed people jumping on the frustration-bandwagon and completely ignoring multiple people's concrete solutions that I realized I had made that mistake.

It is important to remember that some people really don't want solutions, they just want to be heard, and I see it all the time at airports, grocery stores, traffic lights, etc. How could I have missed this? Well, luckily this was a lesson on LinkedIn and not one one of my job roles.

Note to self: Do you take the quick and easy way out, or do you keep going despite the odds being against you?

I no longer devalue my time.

Time truly is the only thing that is ours, so why would I waste the very thing that I have?

No more. I will no longer waste the most precious gift that I was given in this world. I now view time as “super-currency”. Time is greater than money, not the other way around. I cant buy time, but time can buy money in a sense.

Someone asked me this afternoon what my greatest fear was, and I believe my biggest fear is the same as everyone else’s; wasting time. But then again, you can never really waste time, but you can misuse time. Some things that you misuse do not bear huge consequences, but then there are bigger things like money, friendships, authority that are often misused and will definitely result in shifting your life’s path. And then, there are much much bigger things  but I believe the biggest thing is time. If you misuse time, your life was never really yours, thus you’ve never really lived. That sounds to me like the exact definition of a slow death or an incredibly short life. Perhaps that’s what I’m truly afraid of.
