Yakuza 0 is incredibly funny if you consider the fact that in order to unlock the Dragon of Dojima and Mad Dog fighting styles, Kiryu got a real estate business handed to him, no degree or work experience required, and Majima was tasked with doing his behated day job recreationally

Grabbing your favorite characters and rotating them in your mind as you try to figure out what makes you like them so much can do wonders for your sense of self but at the same time, the fear of getting parasocial with a person that doesn't exist is ever present 😔

I really like Dead Souls so far and one of the main reasons is that the characters are less 'clean' and proper. Like, Majima acting like a yakuza boss and in accordance with what his bio says in all the other games (berates his men, violent outbursts, a little vulgar/crude) or Akiyama being more witty and a little more assertive and loan shark-y. It feels as if they are more themselves? Does that make sense?
