Celtic Knot Daily

A little panel quilt here. We got these gorgeous Celtic knots in the shop and I really wanted to show off the individual knots.

They’re about 5 inches square, so I cut them out with a half inch around each one and now am gonna make the black around them.

I was pretty pleased to find a grey with purple undertones for the background too, it matches up lovely with the purples and teals.

Gotta be honest here though; I forgot what pattern I was gonna use for this fabric for weeks until I started laying them out to iron and went: Oh! Right!

And then I had to go find the pattern so I could start it lol

A blast from the past. I did this knot work about thirty five top forty years ago. Found them while scrounging through my things out in the garage.

“Adrift in Memories over Paris” by Sandi Snow of Lutz, Florida.

This is my personal favorite from the Florida Competition (aside from mine, of course). I love all of Sandi’s work, and this one has such ease and charm to it.

The background fabric is actually a print of a French map, and I love how she achieved the tucks in the balloon’s ribbon. Her border is absolutely perfect.
