                ♘ *▕ ;; The man scrunched his nose up at the mention of ‘men’ ; without a doubt assuming it be referring to him as human. While he was trying to avoid his history and nature as but a ‘mere’ house cat ( he was anything but a simple one, if anything ), he didn’t much prefer to be catered to as entirely human. ( Such were the thoughts and musings which seldom made sense to even him. ) “Cats and dogs, more like it.” Came lax reply as he rose to his feet, straightening out his posture before peering back at her, “Good evening, Mademoiselle.”

            She pays little notice of his clarification - she was nearly oblivious to his true identity. To her, he was simply different, mostly due to the fact that he had landed flawlessly upon jumping from a building. It was a bit too early to let her hostilities towards otherworldly beings shine through, especially with such curiosity nipping at her mind. "Good evening to you too, Monsieur." A step forward, directly in front of her other foot, closed the distance between them as she tilted slightly to the side. "Now what might you be doing leaping and falling about this summer evening?"

                  ▉ ┇♬┇ ━━     “…Can I ask why? It sounds like you don’t like him all that much.” Now Kanade knew she might be treading on a sensitive topic.  But sedate the curiosity or shoot it down. ” You are a vampire. I mean I am not exactly a vampire, but some of the blood that is in my system belongs to my adoptive grandfather. I just know when someone like me, very similar to my own kind is around. ” Her hands and arms drop to her side before she tries to explain a little better, “I am a Chiropteran. A pure-blood one.  A Queen of my race…”

            Was that why Juliet hadn't been able to detect the other's supernatural presence? Lips parted slightly, lashes flickering as she processed the information. "Is this how all nobles are?" The smile returned, although the way in which it twisted gave it a completely different tone from before. "You know, my fiance is just like you - regal, vampiric... and you both fascinate yourselves with mongrels like myself. So, your Highness, I would favor you much more if you could avoid comparing me with you - it makes me think I'm similar to him."

                ♘ *▕ ;; Nothing like jumping from a hour-story building and landing perfectly on your hands and feel, right? Then again, it isn’t like a cat to land any way which wasn’t right-side up. The aching he felt in his ankles and feel, however, was something unusual. “I’m getting too old for this — …” 

            Perhaps even innocent evening strolls down the street weren't so safe, after all. Well, then again, she was probably one of the most dangerous things in the entire city - she didn't have to worry too much. A smile silently streaks across her lips, quiet giggles announcing her existence to the man. "Would you look at that? It really must be raining men!"
