Maybe it's some biological rule that once someone finally gears up to do something they've been procrastinating for a while, their parent has to materialize in their doorway and tell them to do that very thing, or to do some unrelated thing RIGHT NOW that'll totally disrupt their momentum.

I wish I could pay someone to listen to me vent.

Not a therapist, exactly, they'd give too much advice.

Not a friend exactly, they'd worry too much about me.

I’ve been deliberating on what to make my first Tumblr post, and with how much overthinking I’ve done about this, I’ve realized that maybe I should just yap about the interesting dynamic of first impressions on social media.

It’s weird, right? It’s not like the whole internet is looking at me, and there’s no guarantee that *anyone* will see this post. But I’m still nervous as if I’m walking into a new classroom. I don’t know the etiquette of making a first post here; I don’t know if there even *is* etiquette to making a first post here… Why would there be? And how would you know if you’ve never been here before?

This overthinking will probably follow me forever if I don’t just post something.
