So we need to talk about why Lucy is not a useless character and protagonist. Blame watchmojo....or whoever made the list and watchmojo agreed.
1. Since Shonen women are qualified by how many wins they have over how many wins and are they good characters, Lucyâs has far more wins than losses: Everlue, Sherry, Vidaldus, Bickslow, Angel, Byro, Kain, Jackal, Franmalth, Jacob and tied with Brandish And counting losses, some big bads while she was in a team, Minerva despite coming in second place during the free-for-all, and Dimaria. And even though some are team wins, she was still useful in the battlesâŚ.although Kainâs is hilarious. 2. Even taking into the fact that she uses her spirits, they do not always determine the fight in her favor, and she owns the spirits. Keep in mind she opened five Zodiac Keys in one day, created her own combo moves with them, fights hand to hand with her own spirits, and made Star Dress. 3. She killed Jackal with the same move that one shotted Angel and wouldâve KOed Flare. 4. She summoned the Celestial King, used Fairy Sphere and spearheaded Gottfried to trap Acnologia and unite all of Fiore into harming his physical body. And rewrote the BOOK OF END , which wouldâve KILLED NATSU had she not intervened 5. Hell, sheâs somewhat physical strong, but at least 6/10 of her battles rely on her smarts, and to say winning battles without being OP perfect in strength doesnât make a strong character is just asinine. 6. Considering she didnât even enjoy battling in the beginning to saving Team Natsuâs behinds and kicking butt not even 100 episodes in, sheâs still better developed than people give her credit for. Heck, she even accomplished almost all of her goals, and is still searching for Aquarius to keep her promise. So how is Lucy a useless character?
I think one of the most important things youâre forgetting is that Lucyâs celestial spiritsâ power relies almost solely on her. Theyâve said before that a spirit can only be strong if their wizard is.
