tf!Ghostie was raised with a lot of pressure to be perfect for her father. The most important person in her life was her mother, whose only want was for tf!ghostie to make her father proud because her mother was so in love with her father. So tf!ghostie worked to be a great warrior and do good in her knight academy to please her father, and her father was proud of her because of her skill and being on track to become a knight. Her and all of her siblings were constantly in a competition for their fathers favor

Tf!ghostie’s older brother Derek who died the first day (pyros dragon killed him) faced similar pressure from thier father, he was second in line to the lordship so their father pressured him to seek glory as a dragon rider, as they are widely respected and praised etc. Derek was also pressured to be very manly, that’s why he read all of the dragon-maxing and such books. To please his father by being the man he thought his father wanted him to be. This contributed to tf!Ghostie not coming out to her family and not introducing them to AJ/keepinf AJ a secret. When Derek went off to become a dragon-rider all of the attention of their father went off of Ghostie and onto their father’s excitement for Derek. When news of Derek dying reached them Ghostie was favored again. Ghostie also became second in line for the lordship.

Shortly after Derek died, Ghostie’s mother also died. And she was doing everything for her mother, so she broke and ran away from her family and her knight academy, before being knighted, leaving everything.

Now that she is a dragon rider she is falling back into old habits, thinking of her family and her father. Thinking about how she did something Derek couldn’t. And craving her father’s praise again.
