Or in short summary, we've finished picking roster, but at the moment, we're currently in preparation mode. This means that we're trying to get as much done possible, such as writing, puzzles, art, and so forth, since those are all individualized for each character.

Hello! Since one mod is currently asleep and the other mod is away from desktop and typing away on mobile, our submission box will remain open throughout the night for anyone who wants to submit apps still. You don't need to ask for a soft opening either since mobile is hellfire for Pate right now.

You’ll have until the next morning when the mods are both awake, which should be around 9AM PST | 12PM EST.

No worries! After thinking it over, the mods have decided that we'd prefer to use just flowers. It makes it easier on us art-wise too since it's a bit trickier to draw a tree for someone's mask.

Though, we know some trees do have flowers, but there are also some trees that don't. We'll allow flowering trees, only if the focus is on the flower itself. (Specifically, if it's known for its flower. Not if it can just flower if that makes sense. Otherwise, we'd get a lot of fruit trees and what not.) Some examples of this are:

Lilacs

Hydrangeas

Cherry blossoms

Dogwoods

Magnolias

Oh! At the moment, the submission list is updated with all that we have in the inbox, so if your application isn't on the list, then it's most likely that Tumblr ate your submission. I'm sorry about that!

That sounds about right though, anon! In regards to your question, We’ll do our best to answer. (And it’ll be a very, very long answer.) Please feel free to send another ask if that's not what you're looking for though! 

Anyway, we'll be giving free reign on what happened to characters as spirits since it can vary from person to person. However, for some ideas, as a spirit, they're more of a semblance of who they once were, so they might focus on one thing. It's a bit like grasping at last straws for any scrap of memories. Perhaps they can only think about how they died, maybe their regret is the only thing that comes to mind, or it could be something entirely unrelated such as the last thing they saw before they passed. Any of these might culminate into their behavior as a spirit.

This is typically a result from having to play the waiting game and slowly forgetting themselves. One can be stuck for months, years, or maybe even decades. No one is really able to interact with the character, so they’re pretty much in the void watching time pass without them.

SHORT SUMMARY: Characters are stuck as spirits for however long until they become corrupted shells of themselves, and that can be interpreted in any way you want.

Here are some examples! We’ll write them from three types of perspectives: spirits, reports, and explanations.

I've looked it over, and it seems that the link seemed to still be working. Just in case, I redid the hyperlinking, and after testing it out on both desktop and mobile, it seems to be fine too.

That bit at the beginning is actually from Tumblr's end though, so I don't think I can do much about that. 'href.li' is Tumblr's new script for redirecting links, so Tumblr automatically adds it to direct links that aren't, well, Tumblr.

I went to check around with other groups and what not to see if their external app links did similarly, and they did have that 'href.li' attached at the beginning too.

If you're unable to be redirected through the link, it may have something to do with your end blocking the redirect in some form? I'm not entirely sure. Sorry that I couldn't do more to help!

Any of the above would be fine so long as you feel you can justify it! A foggy street corner in an unidentifiable city that represents how lost your character felt in their life? Fantastic! An AI: The Somnium Files or Psychonauts style dreamscape that doesn't adhere to the rules of reality? Great! There's no need to write us a novel, but keep in mind that we'd like at least some details. The less info you give us, the higher the chance that we may need to bug you for specifics in the future. You can go wild, so why not personalize it, right?

Think of it like this: you open a door to your character's area. Without any need to connect it to the rules of reality, what do you feel makes the most sense as an explorable area? What makes sense to you? We're here to help you expand on your idea, so long as you give us something to work with. To keep it simple with examples:
