The moment I realized that writers replaced Katara by Gyatso as someone who grounded Aang when he is in the Avatar state....
And the fact that this is only beginning of the way that writers are taking after Natla (instead of Natla following the original source it has become the opposite, but once again it was expected even since there was green light for Z*utara)
Stay aaway from this account. They're being purposely obnoxious on the Kataang tag. I'm calling this person out for being an annoying as hell. Don't take anything they say serious.
I love this scene in the Avatar Aang movie
Katara's relief when Aang is safe, shows me a few things.
The amount of worry she had when she woke up and Aang had left a letter saying he was going after Sonam's staff.
To the world he's the Avatar but to Katara, he's her Lover, her friend, her peace.
And finally, they just look good together.
Beautiful moment between Katara and Aang.
This concept art truly captures the love between Katara and Aang. The love they share is so infectious.

If Canon doesn't matter, why keep arguing about it
The funniest part of the "we don't care about canon" argument is how often it gets brought up. If canon supposedly doesn't matter, why is it always the first thing being argued about?
It comes across less like confidence and more like coping. A ship that was never intended to be canon didn't become canon, so the conversation shifts to pretending canon doesn't matter anyway. That's not indifference, that's moving the goalposts after the game is over.
And here's the dead giveaway, every rebuttal ends up proving the point. Every essay about why canon doesn't matter, every attempt to rewrite what was always intended, every "they had more chemistry" post is still revolving around the same fact, the ship never became canon because it was never the story being told.
If you genuinely didn't care about canon, you wouldn't spend so much time arguing against it. The constant need to explain why not being canon is actually a good thing just looks like another way of coping with a ship that was never going to be canon in the first place.

Kataang Is Unstoppable
Honestly Kataang nation, we need to stop getting so worked up whenever Zutara shippers start butchering Aangâs character or pretending Katara secretly hated her own marriage.
Let them talk.
At the end of the day, Zutara is still just a headcanon that had absolutely no impact on Avatar The Last Airbender. It didnât shape the story. It didnât affect the ending. It didnât change either characterâs journey. It didnât become canon. The actual show ended with Aang and Katara together, and the franchise continued with them getting married, having children, and building a life together.
Thatâs the story. Everything else is fandom dress-up.
And thatâs exactly why so many Zutara arguments depend on turning Aang into some controlling, selfish monster and Katara into a miserable woman who apparently had no idea what she wanted. Because the real versions of Aang and Katara donât support their ship. They have to assassinate both characters first, then use the bodies to build an alternate universe.
Suddenly Aang respecting Katara becomes âpossessiveness.â Katara loving and protecting Aang becomes âmothering.â Their emotional bond becomes âone-sided.â Meanwhile, Zuko can spend most of the series attacking her, betraying her trust, and helping his nation destroy her culture, but one awkward cave conversation supposedly means they were soulmates.
Please be serious.
Zutara isnât some deep hidden romance the writers were too afraid to explore. Itâs a popular enemies-to-lovers fantasy created by fans who liked the aesthetic. Thatâs perfectly fine. Ship whatever you want. Write the fanfiction. Make the edits. Enjoy the drama.
But stop pretending it carries the same weight as the actual relationship the story spent three seasons developing.
Kataang doesnât need to win fandom arguments because it already won where it mattered: in the actual narrative. Zutara can dominate every Tumblr essay or 40-chapter fanfiction, and it still wonât change a single frame of the show.
So donât get mad when they rewrite Aang and Katara. Just remember why they have to rewrite them in the first place.
Because they didn't get what truly mattered... Canon.
People want Kataang đ

Kataang alive and well
How Fry and Leela remind me of Aang and Katara
Honestly, Aang and Katara have always reminded me a little bit of Fry and Leela, and not just because they're iconic animated couples.
Fry accidentally freezes himself, wakes up a thousand years in the future, and finds himself completely alone in a world he doesn't understand. Then he meets Leela. She's one of the first people to show him kindness, the first person he really connects with, and she ends up becoming his anchor in this strange new life.
Aang's story is surprisingly similar. He wakes up after a hundred years to discover everyone he's ever known is gone. Then he meets Katara. She's the first person to show him compassion, the first person he truly bonds with, and she becomes his anchor in a world that no longer feels familiar.
In both stories, the guy falls first. Fry's feelings for Leela are obvious almost immediately, just like Aang's feelings for Katara. But Leela and Katara don't start out in the same place emotionally. They care deeply about these boys, but their love develops more gradually.
And I think that's what I like about both relationships.
Neither Leela nor Katara suddenly wake up one day and realize they're in love. Their feelings grow because they spend years (Leela) and Months (Katara) seeing who these guys really are.
Leela watches Fry prove again and again that beneath all the immaturity and goofiness is someone incredibly loyal and selfless. Someone who would do anything for the people he loves.
Katara watches Aang do the same. She sees his kindness, his optimism, his compassion, and his refusal to give up on people even when it would be easier to. She sees someone who can make her laugh when she's stressed and someone she can lean on when things become overwhelming.
And somewhere along the way, friendship slowly turns into something deeper.
I've always liked that neither relationship is built around two people falling in love at exactly the same time. One person falls first, and the other person gets there through years (Leela) and Months (Katara) of trust, affection, and shared experiences.
And I think that's part of why both couples resonate with so many people.
At the very core though, Fry and Aang are both hopeless romantics who wake up in a future that isn't theirs and find home again in the person who helps them rebuild their lives.
And Leela and Katara eventually discover that the person who had been beside them all along had quietly become the person they couldn't imagine living without.
There's something really beautiful about that.
