A small smile appeared on Beauâs face upon hearing that teasing from her, which he could only reply with âI really thought that was me being smooth,â of course in a joking manner. Then he waited for her to get back to him before he headed for the door, expecting her to follow him outside. âI do have to drive you back home, who knows what kind of actual creep is out there who you might bump into.â He rolled his shoulders into a shrug, and then he looked over. âUnless you think of me as an actual creep and I could just get you a cab or something.â He then offered her a kind smile, âDonât worry, itâs not like youâre going to owe me a date for this.â
He unlocked the car doors and opened the passenger one for her, he waited for her to get inside the car and as he did, he looked at her, cautiously, as if he was trying to figure her out. Realizing that it might come off as rude (his staring) he looked away and then just headed for driverâs side of the car, he had gotten in and then before he started the car he put his seat belt. âSo, on a serious note, where do you live?â He then waited for her to tell him, so that he could put it up on the GPS.
Cece walked along Beauâs wake, closing the Santosâ front door once she had stepped out and into the chilly night air. A chuckle had unconsciously left her lips at his assumption. The feisty Latina would often like to think that she was fearless; and a creep on the way home would be nothing to her. It was far from the reality of things. If Cecelia Castillo disappear, no one would bother to look for a lot of factors. First, she was poor. Second, the police would most likely assume that she had runaway. Third and lastly, her family would believe them. The girl was pretty much an easy target in case any foreign, elite pimps would come into their town and start kidnapping girls for their transactions. She was a cautious and terrified little thing when it came to that. âThank you, and I wouldnât worry about you. You look as harmless as a baby.â She joked as she approached the car. âYou didnât ask.â She mumbled, smiling coyly by her own response.
Once Beau opened the door for her, she thanked him and slid into the passenger seat. While she was fastening the seatbelt, she could not help but feel a slight discomfort at his obvious staring. Suddenly conscious of the way she looked and her every move, Cece cleared her throat and looked the other way until Beau did so as well. She watched through the windshield as the young man walked around the car to get to the driverâs side of it. He was charming, sheâll give him that. He almost reminded her of old Mexican tales for some strange reason. âI live on the other side of town. You can pretty much just drop me off at the nearest bus stop so I can catch a ride there. I donât want to have to pay for gas money.â She replied with an awkward laugh.
