I would absolutely love a scene like that from them on a winter solstice night, only the Mother witnessing them.

They would kill it in waltz, in ice skating, in anything that involves the two of them together, being beautiful and in love with each other.

"But why her? Why not Elain? Why it has to be her sister's friend? Why was I given to her but not the third sister?"

After years, Azriel developed feelings for Elain and helped her to overcome her sadness and depression by being the softest gentleman with her, taking her to garden walks, being a quiet company for her, listening to her talking about gardening and baking, and much more instead of looking for his """mate""" who had the worst trauma and was in the most vulnerable state of her life and visiting her in the library to see if she was okay (even 'spying') or building a friendship with her.

And then, when Azriel was going to train the Valkyries in ACOSF, they would already have all that development we readers didn't know and would show through the book, and there would already be that tension between them. Meanwhile, they have absolutely nothing.

He didn't look for her after she was rescued, he didn't want a friendship with her and doesn't consider her a friend, he doesn't reach out to train her privately or offer to train together, and on top of that, in the bonus he left her alone in the freezing night, didn't want to spend the whole night with her (like he did with Elain) and didn't offer to escort her back to the safety of the library after she finished her training.

And then he tells Clotho to give Gwynnie or any of the priestesses the necklace he gifted to the woman he wants to kneel so bad to taste her sweet jasmine flower. It's like the situation where someone doesn't want something anymore because it has now bad memories, so they give it to someone they know but don't spend time with them and say "give it to anyone who you know will like it, I just don't want it anymore" and then they leave like 'I don't give a fuck who gets it, just be someone who is not my friend'. Like… he had all that feeling of gifting Elain the necklace HIMSELF and putting it on HER, and with Gwynnifer in the bonus it's like "yeah, give it to her, or anyone there, thanks Clotho, bye".

Meanwhile through the book we know he worries about Elain, he cares about Elain, feels sick of Elucien's bond, has tension with Elain, almost kissed Elain, and every night he goes to bed with his mind on Elain.

That's a big fucking L.

Cassian throwing the solstice gift into the Sidra river like a furious warrior and some people thinking it was over for Nesta, and that that scene with Emerie meant something.

Azriel leaving the solstice gift in the library like a sad gentleman and some people thinking it was over for Elain, and that that scene with Gwyneth meant something.

For Gwyneth to be Azriel's mate now, Sarah would have to make Gwyneth a literal copy of Elain, making Gwyneth the 'secret true mate', put the Mother around them, make Azriel question the Cauldron for her, give his Truth-Teller to her, make Azriel blush when she says that his scars are beautiful, make Azriel protective of her, make Azriel carry her around, make Azriel have blue balls because of her, make Azriel think about her every night and fantasize about her, make Azriel keep her simple gift that made him laugh loud as something very valuable on his nightstand, make his shadows disappear when she is around, make Azriel brush hands and exchange charged glances with her, bring her into the Inner Circle and become besties with Feyre too and be treated as the third sister, make her become besties with Nuala and Cerridwen, and much more.

This is insane. Anyway, fuck that.

Those feelings that are over 500 years old are really strange. The way Mor reacted to Azriel getting over it because of Elain and when he revealed to everyone Elain is a seer was really highlighted by Sarah. Want foreshadowing? Here you go.

With Mor and Azriel, it was questioned why the bond didn't snap.

With Elain and Azriel, it was questioned why they aren't mates.

With Elain and Lucien, it was questioned why they are mates.

We have a 'mating bond problem' surrounding this quartet together: Elain, Lucien, Azriel, Morrigan. It needs to be solved in the next book.

Not to mention the strong similarities between Elain and Morrigan that intrigue me a lot, like both having 'rich brown eyes' and 'golden hair', being able to see things others can't, and being forced with Vanserras.

What Sarah did is very clear. It's the stupidity that blinds some people in this fandom.

Do you guys realize that Sarah created the perfect setting for Azriel to become Elain's secret lover if she wants him as it? Even if Elucien happens? (which it won't)

That bonus scene of Elriel meeting at late night while Lucien is asleep in a room gives off a lot of forbidden love and sexy asf secret lover vibes. Even if Elucien were endgame, the girl would find her happiness in other ways.

This would 100% happen:

Rhys: Where have you been, Azriel? I couldn't find you anywhere. Did you leave Velaris? The Night Court? Where to?

Azriel: *silent for a few seconds*

Azriel: I'm seeing a married woman. I can't tell you more than that. *leaves the room*

Rhys: . . .

Rhys: FUCKING HELL!! AAAZRIEEEEEL!!!

Azriel probably thinks he returned it to the shop and doesn't remember going to the library. He was feeling very sad over what happened and ended up in the library because of the lightsinger powers, just like it happened the other night when he left pissed and sad after what went down and was lured to the exact place where Gwyneth was training, then he got tired of her presence and left her there alone and went away.

That's what happened.

There's no 'introduction to a new romance' to a single and free male character who just said "it was a mistake" to a sad female character trapped in a nasty biological forced marriage in this fucking series.

One of my brothers found his mate, and she loves him.

His mate has two sisters.

I like the third sister... a lot.

My second brother seems to be feeling something strong for the second sister too.

I found out the third sister is not my mate, but I still like her...

My second brother and the second sister don't seem to be doing well.

I think I'm in love with the third sister.

My second brother found out the second sister he loves is his mate.

Why were the women my brothers loved given to them...

but the woman I love wasn't given to me?

Elriel was happening before Nessian, but somehow Nessian are mates but Elriel aren't?

How could anyone dare accuse Azriel of "wanting what his brothers have" when Elriel would be the second brother and second sister to be together if it weren't for the mating bond fuckery and people around them forcing them not to fall in love and not be together for not having the damn mating bond card?

Pro Elain is Anti-Elucien because Elain isn't an object to be biologically attached to a man she doesn't want and be forced to accept him.

Pro Elain is Pro Elriel because Elain deserves to be together with the man who loves her for who she is and not because of a mating bond.

Pro Azriel is Anti-Gwynriel because Azriel doesn't need a mating bond to love a woman and he doesn't need a woman biologically attached to him to be worthy of love.

... but gets hurt really badly?

I can't even think what kind of berserk mental state Azriel would get into. He’s already very protective of Elain, as we’ve seen.

It's cool to imagine that he would take on a completely dark form, pure darkness, like an angel of death, because he's so consumed by shadows and pain and wrath,

because someone dared to hurt the Lovely Fawn in front of Death.

Do they REALLY think SJM is going to make Azriel - the most soft, gentleman male character - do to her what Graysen did, and then Elain will end up with a unknown man because of a trashy biological forced marriage and leave the Night Court to live far away with unknown people like a good little female and forgotten sister while other side character created only a book ago takes the man who made her have hope that love triumphs even a mating bond, becomes the aunt of the her beloved nephew and takes her place as the third sister, all her symbols (roses, truth-teller...) and even her only friends???

I've never seen such deep and senseless hatred for a soft feminine female character

It will be so fucking beautiful.
