RULES:
β€ Well hey! My name is Emory; Iβm 29 (they or he please!). Thanks for coming to read this! Iβll try to keep it as brief as I can. This is a highly selective, low-activity blog for an OC of mine. Created, developed and loved by me! :)
β€ First and foremost, I DO NOT recommend following this blog if you're adverse to religious themes (or alternatively with blasphemy lol) for obvious reasons. The mun is not religious! So if I get things wrong, don't be afraid to let me know! That being said, this blog is not super serious - I will be taking liberties. Please do not follow if you find this offensive.
β€ When sending memes/asks/liking for a starter, please try to specify a muse that you're interacting with if you're a multi-muse blog, otherwise you may be ignored, or I may prioritize others before you
β€ I work a full-time job, and often struggle with my mental health, as well as deal with chronic pain β I may take a long time to respond both ooc and ic because of this; I apologize in advance. Itβs not because I donβt want to write or talk with you, I promise! Iβm also quite forgetful, so donβt be afraid to nudge me if I havenβt gotten back to you in a few days time; but on the same breath, please donβt hound me for responses.
β€ This blog is generally Mutuals-Only. Plotting and dms are reserved for mutuals only, but ask memes and open starters (unless tagged βmutuals onlyβ) are open to anyone. Mutuals will be prioritized though.
β€ Iβm not follow for follow, so that means I only follow those that Iβm interested in writing with! I also read everyoneβs rules and character information before following/interacting, and expect the same from others. I wonβt follow those without a rules page or a finished (or mostly at least) character info page; I like to know who Iβm writing with! I also follow from @bcneheaded as that is the main blog this one is attached to. If I follow you there, it's safe to assume I'm interested in interacting here as well!
†Triggers will be tagged as trigger tw. Things I need you to tag for me are ped*philia, and emetophobia (irrational fear of v*mit** For me, in example⦠Saying you threw up is OK, but do not discuss or describe it any further than that please. Thank you.] ) If you deliberately ignore or frequently forget this rule, you will be blocked and anything we have will be dropped.
β€ Quality over quantity! But of course, please donβt give me a sentence in return for a couple paragraphs. On a similar note, I have the tendency to ramble. So please donβt feel the need to match my length if Iβve gone off and made the thread quite long. Iβll be happy with just about anything you give in return!
β€ Ships will be based on chemistry, and are possible here. Though given the nature of the muse, it may be a very long game, or a difficult thing to initiate. Discussion for pre-established relationships of any sort are super welcome and encouraged.
β€ I love continuing ask memes as threads and I definitely encourage you to do so if youβd like to (though itβs not necessary!) as itβs a great way to break the ice and start something in general. If you do though, I only ask that you do so on a new text post, @ my username, and possibly put it in the tags as well. Iβll like the post to let you know Iβve seen it, so if I donβt, donβt be afraid to ask to see if I have or not; we all know tumblrβs a little (a lot) funky, so I may have missed it!
β€ I donβt do drama, so please donβt involve me in it. Any passive aggressive or hateful asks or messages will be ignored and whoever it is sending it will be blocked. The anonymous feature is a privilege, please donβt abuse it.
β€ On the topic of drama, I generally donβt support callout culture, nor will I participate it in. You can certainly do what you want on your blog, but I do ask that you please tag any callouts and/or drama. If you wonβt or frequently donβt, then thatβs alright, but please do know that I likely wonβt be interacting with you or your blog and will probably unfollowβ no hard feelings. I just donβt want it on my dash.
β€ NSFW content of sexual nature is very unlikely to appear on this blog as I donβt often participate in those kinds of threads. But if I do for some reason, it will be put under a read more and tagged as β ( nsft ) β and will only be done with people Iβm close with or have discussed it with beforehand. NSFW themes may be more likely to appear in terms of DARK themes, as this muse is horror based. (depictions and mention of torture, existentialism, death, abuse, demonic imagery, religious themes etc will all appear here.) But these will be tagged as such. The catchall tag will be β ( horror tw ) β
~ These rules subject to change over time, but if/when they do Iβll be sure to make a post about it to let ya know! Thank you for your time; itβs appreciated!

Backstory:
Todd Stewart's story both begins and ends... in fire. Nobody exactly knows what caused the fire that destroyed his house when he was six years old, and likely never will. It was assumed to be an accident, and in a way... it was. How could a child so young understand what it meant for things to burn... until things burned? He'd been transfixed by the flame when he'd struck the match, and at the same time the wood match head glowed to life, so too did an unspeakable, terrible love for something that would take so much from him. His pyromania wouldn't settle until his grandparents-- who he now lived with since his father died in the house fire-- put him into therapy. It didn't fix it though. Nothing can ever fix it. He just learned to live with it eventually, and to cope as best he could. His father's death was his first sin and since then, somewhere deep down... he believed he'd been cursed because of it. And given the events that unfolded in his life, it, perhaps, wouldn't be too unbelievable of he had been. He felt marked by something terrible. His hands stained. He had a troubled adolescence, always feeling alienated and alone even despite surrounding himself with people. He felt different, in a bad way. Things got bad for a long time when he was a teen... he felt hopeless. He felt tired. And then there was a fire. And then, though only for a short time... he died. He was brought back, and charged for arson in the end. He spent a few years in jail, and returned to therapy during his incarceration. Though despite this, he still felt a sense of helplessness... In the end, he turned to religion. It was hard for him at first, as it is for most. He just didn't believe. But someone older, wiser and more lived than he in terrible ways taught him how to open his heart to it. His faith saved his life more than once after that, and it would continue to do so long after he had been released and eventually, properly ordained. Todd-- "Joe" now mostly (he quickly tired of the "is Todd short for Todrick?" joke) spends most of his time in his church and amongst others like himself. He was happy for a long time, he found peace. But as all things do, his peace came to an end when people started going missing; first women, then a few men... then the kids. Todd accidentally stumbled into the truth, or a great portion of it. It had been the church all along. They had for some reason, for decades, been consorting with darker forces, until seemingly all of a sudden they decided to up their game. And Todd, once he tried to confront others about it, was denied the truth. Then with further pushing, given it-- but without the ability to tell anyone about it, lest he become their next victim. And he would be. They didn't need to be near him to hurt he or those he loved, or worse.
His struggle began once more, feeling helpless in the face of something far greater than himself. All hope was lost. Everyone he thought he could trust suddenly had their masks removed and he saw them for what they were. There was nothing he could do.... except play along, until he found something. Anything.
And then... there was a fire.
It wasn't he alone who destroyed the church and all the evil forces within-- alongside the gate to hell they had nearly been successful in opening with the souls and blood of more of the innocent. There was one other who saw reason; who realized that what was could never be again. Turning a blind eye for all of those years had only resulted in tragedy. So together.. they fooled the others, pretended to cooperate. Gain some semblance of trust. And with the help of an outsider, they set their plan in motion. He wasn't aware of the plan until the moment of. Todd tried to bargain briefly, but in his heart he knew... he knew this choice had to be made. He knew there was no good ending no matter what happened. When it came time to strike the match, he had been pushed out the doors by his priest companion. He told him to run. He said that unlike himself... Todd was young. He still had much life left to live. He told him to secure the doors... and to go. To run far, far away and start new.
And again, his life as he knew it went down in flames. The killing stopped though, gates that ought to be left alone left shut - at least for now.
Joe Stewart moved to Nebraska after that. His life is quieter now. He has his own church and works generously and gently with the people of his community. He should be happy. And he is... sort of. But something in the back of his mind... it keeps burning. Flames lick at the corners of his consciousness. He's fine. He is, really. He has his faith, tired a thing as that might be-- it's never been stronger.
