some of the best tropes: divorce, cheating, cucking, weird love triangle, breaking up making up, breaking up never making up, pining for your ex, pining for the person you're nominally in a competition with for the third end of the triangle, infidelity, emotional infidelity, fucking someone and imagining they're someone else, toxic soulmates, toxic codependency, proxy sex, exes with benefits, cheating, divorce

the point of fanfiction is to write something so self indulgent that nobody else has thought of it before or cares

i think the only evidence of shane and ilyas marriage when they’re on the cens is one micced clip where ilyas skates up to shane with his hand about to rest on his waist and shane says with completely flat affect “get your hands off me you pervert” and ilya bark laughs back at him as shane skates away

truly the idea of "this scene is (un-)necessary to the story" is such a fundamentally uncurious and anti-art way of engaging with fiction. the story itself is unnecessary, in the sense that all art is unnecessary, because art is not a fucking optimization problem. that's the beauty of it
