“Don’t be rude, it could be worse. Bruce could’ve made the coffee. That’s sludge Tim won’t even touch.”

“I don’t think you could embarrass him. Just don’t call him your baby daddy while at this gala. I find that can disarm people. Try fiancé or something akin to that, kid.” Christian snarled at her follow up. He was great with kids. “Uncle Chris got this covered. I love my girl and would love to spend all my time with her but she’s got her own life. This is my way to contribute so that she can exercise that freedom.”

I am gonna handle Lux on my own and if I need help I’ll call Maxie. He’s tall and lanky. Babies love tall men.”  

“The only people who know is family,” Stephanie admitted quietly, “With everything that has happened I don’t want to push him to make any commitments he may not be ready for. He’s got a lot on his plate,” Stephanie admitted. 

“You are a very understanding civilian boyfriend. How you handle the crazy that is our family I do not understand.”

Is this one of those things I don’t get cause I’m a guy and we have pockets in all of our pants?

“Yes, good answer Conner Kent,” Stephanie said with a grin and a pat on his chest. “Men have all the good pockets. We can barely fit our phones in our pockets. Guys have like, Mary Poppins Pockets. Beyond the pockets what do you think? I’m trying not to embarrass The Family.”

“I’m all for a dress with pockets. You look beautiful, Steph. I’m glad the dress fit.”

“Thank you, Felicity, but can I ask how you got a dress worth $25,000. You and Oliver make good on your dividends from Queen Consolidated, but not that good. “

“What do they say…fashion and function?”

“Where you goin’ lookin’ so fancy?” 

“Exactly.”

“Charity gala; I have to go and try not to embarrass my baby daddy and his family.”

“I don’t need big daddy bat to come to door when you slice into an artery. Batgirl is perfectly fine without sais or anything else that’s pointy.” Oliver shook of her comment trying to quell the laughter that tickled the back of his throat. “Stick to the staff. Some of the best in business fight with a staff.” He smiled to himself thinking about Sara and John Diggle. His staff work wasn’t the best but he was the best. Oliver missed him dearly. “So, are you ready to show me what you got?”

“I’m telling Bruce you called him Daddy,” Stephanie teased as she put down the sais, “And I would not stick myself with them, just so you know. Now I might stick someone who annoys me in or out of leather, but that’s just details. I’ll take them to the hospital. I might even pay the bill. But I can’t help stupid people annoy me. Or super naive people. Except for Conner. He doesn’t count—also people who chew their gum too loud. And people who answer their phones in the movies. There’s a special place in hell for those people.” Steph picked up her staff and grinned, “If I win will you call me Daddy too?”
