Summary: Getting trapped by a snowstorm in a different city wasn’t the way you’d planned to spend New Years. Spending it with your boss, Harrison Wells hadn’t been on the cards either. But when the power goes out, the two of you find yourself coming together

A/N: Just a small something to wish people a Happy New Year

“Are you sure there’s no way…? Yes, I understand but it’s vital we get back as soon as possible….okay…yes…please…thank you. Bye.” Hanging up the phone, you sighed and looked out the window at the sheets of snow coming down to blanket the city around you in white. You should’ve been heading back to Central City tomorrow, ending a week of meetings a day early to avoid a snowstorm, but it had come in faster than expected and now you were grounded until further notice. It could’ve been worse. You’d rented a house for the week, and the owner had already been in touch to confirm you could stay at no extra cost. So you had a roof over your head, a full cupboard and warmth. Not the most awful way to get trapped in a strange city. However, you knew one person who wouldn’t be happy at this new turn of events.

Turning away from the large plane of glass, you looked over at Harrison sitting at the dining table, scowling at his laptop. Your boss hadn’t wanted to come, but since he was the main focus of the meetings, hadn’t been able to get out of it either. And after days of complaining about how these unnecessary distractions were hindering his development of the Particle Accelerator, he was surely not going to take the news well.  

“Dr. Wells?” You called, approaching him and waiting for him to look up from his work. “I’ve spoken to every airline and transport hub in the City. I’m afraid we’re stuck here until the storm has cleared.”

The scowl stayed firmly in place as he tossed his glasses onto the table. “How long will that be?”

“Three days. At best.”

A few minutes left on the countdown clock made you refill your much needed drink. Around the room people slowly coupled off, the obvious West-Allens and Joe and Cecil snuggling close awaiting their midnight kisses. You couldn’t deny the idea had always seemed so romantic to you, starting your year with someone you care for and in such a playful way; it seemed so cute. Taking a long slurp from your cup you internally groaned as the clock winded down, three minutes clicking away achingly slowly. Your eyes scanned the room, one familiar face missing from the group. Squeezing past Caitlin and Ralph you made your way down the halls of Star Labs, the sounds of the active party lulling to a dull roar the closer you got to Harry’s lab.

Before you entered you could hear him clattering things around the space. His shadow hung over the dimly lit hallway and his hands were on his hips. Rounding the corner you gave the door a gentle knock, grabbing the man’s attention with a sharp turn. Quickly his expression softened when he saw your face. “Oh, hey you.” He stated while motioning for you to enter. The smile on your lips only grew at the edges when he allowed you in. Most people he would turn on their heels and push away, but not you. That was something you could always count on. No matter how mad Harry got he was never mad at you, at least not for very long.

Making your way to him you offered up your drink, and he grumbled nodding enthusiastically before taking it from your hand. The brunette took a rather large swig from your cup before placing it down in the table. From the Cortex you heard everyone screaming, beginning the final 60 second countdown of the year. Without thinking you stepped forward and rested your hands on Harry’s hips. His eyebrows raised and he braced your shoulders about to intictively push you back, but stopped to look down at you with a newfound longing gaze. Behind you the booming voices of your friends descended into the 40s as they counted. “I don’t think you wanna do what you’re about to do..” Harry’s voice was softer than usual, his eyes darting between your eyes and lips as he spoke. One hand slipped away from him as you spoke up finally. “If you don’t wanna kiss me I’ll find someone who does.” You began to back away when his hand caught your arm.

“Please don’t do that.” He stated flatly as he pulled you back to him, a large smile painting itself across your face at his words. Harry brought your body close, bringing his hands up to gently cradle your face. In the distance you heard the final ten numbers being screamed, Cisco’s drunken voice carrying through the halls. “6, 5, 4..” Harry locked his eyes on yours and his expression read purely excited. “3, 2, 1!” “Happy new year.” His voice came out as a whisper as he closed the gap between you. The kiss was soft at first, both of you testing this new contact. Clearly it was enjoyed by both parties, your body melting into his and a small hum parting Harry’s lips as he curled his tongue against yours. Around you horns sounded and you could hear the party filing into the hallway as your friends surely began to come look for the two of you. Reluctantly Harry released your lips, hands lingering on your face and neck for a few seconds longer before footsteps approached.

The people around you were celebrating the remaining minutes of the year as you looked over to see Harrison Wells; the man accountable for the particle accelerator explosion that caused the death of innocent lives, and the creation of meta-humans that over took the city. 

It was the first and only thing people thought of him. So of course, you both would want to keep your newly-kindled relationship a secret. You kept your public displays of affection to making eye contact across the room while accompanying your best friend Barry to S.T.A.R. Labs. 

Wells felt your eyes on him as he turned around to meet your gaze. He excused himself from the conversation that he obviously hadn’t been paying much attention to, and made his way towards you. With every step he took, the flutters in your stomach grew.

“You look absolutely stunning,” he said as you both realized this was the closest you’d ever been in public.

“Thank you,” you blushed.

A waiter interjected offering flutes of champagne as the countdown to midnight began. The voices around began to countdown in unison.

Wells caught you by surprise as the took the champagne from your hand and placed it on the table beside you.

“What are you-“ you were interrupted by him placing his hands on your cheeks.

3..2..1..

He leaned forward to lightly press his lips to yours. Although you’d kissed before, this held the most importance. You forgot about the people around you who at this point were looking, including Barry. You easily could’ve let the kiss go on forever, but your senses came to and you broke the kiss.

“Harrison, you just kissed me in public,” you laughed.

“I’m aware, (Y/N).” He smiled. “I have a New Year’s Resolution, so to speak, and that is to no longer keep our relationship hidden.”

“That’s funny, because I also have a New Year’s Resolution,” you smiled.

“What would that be?” he asked.

“To kiss you again,” you leaned forward to meet his lips once more. No longer afraid to show your affection for Harrison Wells.

“No…” Came Harry’s unwavering response after pulling his hands away from his eyes; staring with a hard expression toward the horribly knitted sweater covering his bed. “No.”

“Dad, c’mon! It’s part of the fun.” Jesse cut playfully as she shoved at his shoulder and pointed toward the terrible reindeer sweaters you were both currently wearing. “We’re all doing it.”

“You know…” You began as you stepped forward and ran your fingers over the scratchy fabric of the Santa Claus beard that had been covering most of the bright, red sweater near the foot of the bed. “If you hadn’t been a complete dick about decorating the lab, I wouldn’t have needed to take such drastic measures.”

“I wasn’t a di-”

“You’re practically the Grinch.” Was your response.

“I’m not the Grin-”

“Dad, you stole the star off the tree and hid all of Cisco’s Christmas mugs.” Jesse quipped, jerking a thumb over her shoulder and gesturing toward the cortex. 

“Grinch…” You supplied again with a smirk just moments before pointing toward the bed. “So, Santa Claus it is!“

Crossing his arms, Harrison breathed through a rough sigh and said, “I’ll wear this on one condition…”

“That sounds dangerous.” Cocking an eyebrow, you tucked your hands into your back pockets and shrugged. “Okay… I’ll bite. What do you want?”

 “You have to wear that lacy little…” He tried through a low rasp before waving a finger toward your torso and doing nothing to stifle the smirk curling through his lip. “That one thing you have.”

“Would that put you in good spirits?” You purred, you voice lowering in a way that made his head tilt to the side as if he needed to catch the sound and hang onto it for dear life.

“Absolutely…”

“Ugh, don’t be gross.” Jesse started, scrunching her face up into a horrid sneer.

“This is the absolute best!” You beamed, bouncing on the balls of your feet after watching Harry jump through the breach. Barely managing to contain yourself and grinning from ear to ear, you threw your arms around Cisco’s neck and whispered, “Thank you.”

“I got your back, Boo…” Cisco said with a smirk, pulling away and gesturing toward Harrison who was standing a few feet off with his hands tucked into his front pockets; a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Plus, I was picking up some serious vibes over this guy moping around cause he missed you just about as much as you missed him.”

“You did?” You asked, rounding on Harrison and reaching out to place a light grip around his forearm as if you couldn’t believe that he was actually real.

“Every day.” Came his quick response as he stepped in and gathered you against the solid wall of his chest; his mouth dropping to your hairline and his arms wrapping tighter around your middle just to feel your warmth.

“Okay, guys… Merry Christmas.” Cisco pulled his goggles away from his face and snarked out, “Just be sure to wrap it before you tap it. You get me?”

“Ramon…” Harry growled.

Still haven’t gotten a good feel for Nash, so hopefully you all like were I went with him. I also added Mistletoe to this one only because it fit in so well with where I wanted it to go.

“I still don’t get why you kissed me.”

Standing next to the bar you turned your head to the side and looked at Nash. Shaking your head you downed what was left in your glass.

“For a multi-world traveler I am surprised you don’t understand the tradition of mistletoe.”

Opening and closing his mouth quickly Nash did his best impression of a fish out of water. 

“I understand the tradition of mistletoe. What I don’t understand is why YOU kissed me. I saw you talking to other people and you did not kiss any of them, but you went out of you way to come to me and kiss me.”

Reaching for a bottle of alcohol you poured more into your glass and took a sip. Hoping that the alcohol would mask the redness that was covering your face. The kiss had been an impulse move on your part.

Earlier in the night Ralph had came in wearing a cap that had a stick sticking out the top with mistletoe on the other end of it. After making his way around the group and getting kisses from all the ladies and a surprise kiss from Barry. Ralph had handed the hat off to you. Unlike Ralph though you had sat in your seat and ignored the fact you were wearing the hat. It was only when you saw Nash sitting off to the side by himself did you use the hat to your advantage.

Nash had came to the group not to long ago, but unlike the other Wells he didn’t fit right in with siad group. Heck none of you barely saw him much, so to see him sitting in the corner by himself you figured the hat was the best way to break the ice with him. So you excuse yourself from talking with Cisco and Frost and went to the bar. After making two drinks you turned and made your to Nash. After handing him one you acted, badly, like you had forgotten you were wearing the hat and bent down to kiss his cheek. Afterwards you lifted your drink and smiled before turning away. As you went past Cisco you place the hat on his head. 

Looking at Nash now you couldn’t help but shrug your shoulders. 

“Truth be told I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because you aren’t like the other Wells in the standpoint you haven’t clicked as fast with the group as they had. Figured it was a nice ice breaker." 

Smiling Nash took a step closer to you. Even as he brought his drink to his lips Nash kept his eyes on yours. After finishing his drink he set the glass on the counter and brought his hands to your face. Before you could ask Nash what he was doing, Nash brought your face to his and pressed his lips against yours. Almost on instinct you were opening your lips slightly which allowed Nash to slip his tongue into your mouth just as quick. After a few minutes Nash finally pulled back and gave you a grin.

A/n: A short Harry fic, one that I started a while ago and never actually finished. 

Three hours. That’s how long you’d been sat at the table watching as Harry struggled with the paper. A screwdriver firmly placed between his lips as he continuously folded each corner. To any sane person the task would have taken them five minutes, perhaps ten at the most, but for a genius like Wells.

You exhaled deeply, popping your cheeks as you did. It was desperate tactic to make Harry mad enough to just ask you to help him, but as you continued to watch him, his finger lifting the screwdriver from in his mouth and balancing it on the paper, it was clear it wasn’t working.

“So, I just put the tape here” Harry grumbled; it was almost as though he had never done this before. You hummed in response as you watched the tool roll to the side as the man replaced it with tape. The sealing agent had been off kilter the second it touched the paper, the plastic stuck diagonally and exposing the box within the folds.

“No, not like that.” You commented with a sigh. Harry lifted his head slightly and puffed out his cheeks. His irritation had started to get the better of him now as you began your criticism. You offered the man a knowing look to be responded with the type of look that screamed. If he didn’t love you, he would have kicked you out months ago. “Fine… you carry on. It looks good.” You lied.

Jesse had become used to this by now, her father’s lousy excuse for wrapping. You could see the image of Jesse’s surprised face the first Christmas you had with them. Harry had wrapped the presents by himself; half of them had been sealing with heavy coats of duct tape and the other half had been lazily tossed into a carrier bag and thrown under the tree in frustration. It had been why you had offered to oversee Harry wrapping Jesse’s newest surprise suit upgrade.

“Shut up and pass me more tape” Harry growled, in the time it had taken for him to look up and down he’d lost his roll of tape. You looked down at the box, one side had been completely sealed with tape – the sort of wrapping a five-year-old would do.
