“Hey, no problem.” He assured her with a soft smile. “We’ll just take it from the top, and you can borrow my script since I’m guessing you didn’t bring your own given this wasn’t planned.”

Okay, so maybe this was just an excuse to keep her there without having to talk about his feelings. Beck wasn’t exactly the best when it came to talking about that kind of stuff, and he had always preferred to show it through his actions. And maybe, just maybe it was an excuse to get to kiss her without having to explain why, since he knew Cat hat written it in there somewhere. He was almost sure it was her way to tell them to stop fighting and just make up, since she was probably the only one worse than him with confrontations, and even if she wasn’t a part of his arguments with Jade, he imagined that watching her friends fight wasn’t exactly her favorite way to spend the day. “You just want to take it from the top, or from the death scene?” He asked her, as he picked up the script.

“Well..” He ran a hand through his hair, not really sure what to say. “Do you like want to rehearse lines or something together? I didn’t read the whole script yet.. But it looks like we have a lot of scenes together..”

“No. I mean, you can stay if you want, I don’t mind.. I’m sorry if I seem a bit grouchy.. It’s just been a long and boring day.. And I’m kind of tired... I wouldn't have invited you over if I didn’t want to talk to you though.”

“I don’t recall saying anything like that.. Why would you think that’s what I want?”

“Yeah..” He mumbled softly. “Well, I mean.. If that’s what you want, I’m not going to stop you..”

“You know what.. Just forget it..” He ran a hand over his face. Sure, he loved her, but her always assuming the worst no matter how he put things, could get kind of tiring.

Beck sighed lightly, and ran a hand through his hair and then looked over at her. “Jade, come on.. You know that’s not what I said at all..” He paused for a minute, as he looked at the clock before correcting her. “And actually.. Technically.. It’s 18 days..” 

“What exactly do you mean by that? All I’m saying is that I don’t know if you’ve at some point, when we didn’t know each other or weren’t together, have had another boyfriend.. ‘cause we never talked about that..” 

Beck shrugged lightly. “Well.. As far as I know, I’m the only boyfriend you’ve ever had.. And then there was the whole thing with you fighting with Cat and Tori over Moose..”

“Well, I mean.. You obviously know that better than I do... But.. Canadian.. Probably.. Despite how much you like to criticize the country and people..” He said, remembering how she had fought with Cat and Tori to get Moose’s attention.

“Pfft.. No..” He scoffed softly, and crossed his arms. Though he kind of was, but there was no way he’d admit that even to himself. “We’re not together anymore.. You can date whoever you want.. I just didn’t think he was your type, is all..”

“In that case I’m asuming that you think swallowing razor blades would be less painful than the past two hours of your life have been.. He looked like your typical high school jock.. Why did you even agree to go out with him to begin with? I mean.. Knowing you.. He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy you’d go out with..”

When she smacked the door in the face of the guy, Beck looked over at Jade with a slightly raised eyebrow. “So.. Are you going to explain to me what’s going on.. Or am I just going to have to figure that out for myself?”

Only getting even more confused, Beck looked between the two. “Uh.. Yeah..” He just mumbled when Jade made her precense known. “I’m sorry, who are you? And what are you doing here?”
