Hey. I'm currently questioning my gender, but I don't know how to figure stuff out or what to call myself. I like being feminine, and I've been a girl since birth, but neither "girl" nor "woman" feel like they fit me anymore. I know I'm not a boy, but I don't have the same level of 'nope' when it comes to calling myself a girl, which I have to do rn because of irl reasons. Can I still call myself nb, given all this? How do I sort this out? Help is appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Hi Ā Iām one of the former mods, Mod Mika that was never deleted from the blog for some reason. Iām currently answering asks that have been left in the inbox for a while. Iām sorry and I hope no one is bothered by the fact that since I was a mod here Iāve started IDāing as a trans man, I just feel that the people whoāve sent asks deserve to have them answered.
Letās start with the fact that even though you like being feminine that doesnāt really tell what your gender is. It might still help you figure stuff out and be a bit of a hint, but you can be feminine AND be any gender regardless.Ā
And yes you can call yourself nonbinary if you so wish to identify even though youāre not as opposed to calling yourself a girl as you are a boy. It might be because your gender is closer to girl than to boy or that youāre just so used to being called a girl that it doesnāt bother you that much.
Also disclaimer: I canāt actually tell you what your gender is and what labels you should use. You might be genderfluid, agender, demigender or anything else. You might wish to just call yourself nonbinary or genderqueer. Or you might want to use a combination of labels. Which labels you use are your own choice and how exactly you feel about your gender is not something anyone else can tell you.
