Pollen the Rainwing/Icewing. Art of @painteatingfruitz ās character.
^ I promise they are real, I just canāt properly link their @
Iāve been really wanting to draw but the art block has been hitting me so hard. I decided to look up WoF OC, and then pick the first one that caught my attention. So here we are, thank you Fruitz for the unknowing sacrifice, She was just detailed enough to be interesting but not overwhelming for my art block.
Fanart of @fiendish-illos oc, Warbler.
I really like Fiendās art style and headcanons. Iāve been following them for a while, so decided I wanted to draw one of their characters in my own style!
I didnāt find a fully body reference for her so the neck down is just whatever I decided, and this also features my own Skywing headcanons so itās not completely true to the character anyways.
(Also not sure of Fiendās pronouns so let me know if I need to change them <3)
Moonwatcher and Carnelian
Round three of pride headcanons! Featuring āCarnelian lives auā. Iām not super happy with how this one came out because I didnāt have an official idea of my designs for these two, but itās finished art nonetheless!
This features the WLW / Sapphic flag - meaning that they are a woman who is attracted to other women. This flag is an umbrella term, so this could feature bisexual women, lesbian, etc.
The Last Unicorn
Read the book for the first time recently, and I had never seen the movie so I figured I should start with the original. Here is how I imagined her based on the first passage in the book. This was just a quick sketch cause I was stressed out a needed something to draw for a few minutes.

Winter and Kinkajou
Second round of pride headcanons, except both of these are actually canon. This is more about the ship headcanon. I think they are cute together (after winter figures his shit out)
Winter is bisexual - meaning he is attracted to more than one gender
Kinkajou is pansexual - meaning she is attracted to someone regardless of gender, gender is not a factor that determines her attraction
Now, while only slightly relevant, I also want to talk about the omnisexual label as I quite like this label, but a lot of people try to claim that āItās just being biā. Omnisexual means to be attracted to all genders, but have a preference for gender.
Bisexual - more than one gender, may have a preference
Pansexual - all genders, has no preference
Omnisexual - all genders, has a preference
Someone who is bisexual may be attracted to all genders and may not have a preference, but some people like to acknowledge the wide spectrum this label covers by narrowing it down into micro labels like pan and omnisexual. Since bi is such a broad definition, micro labels can help significantly, however, this is not to say that someone has to use one. It just means that that distinction is there for the people who want it.
Clay and Starflight
This is going to be part of series of pride headcanons. Whether these all get done in June is another story but it donāt need to be pride month to post pride. I will also explain the flags I include even if itās the most common flag out there, cause it ticks me off a little when I see a flag I donāt recognize and no one in the comments or post even states the name of it let alone the meaning. Anyways:
Clay is aroace - meaning he experiences little to no romantic or sexual attraction
Starflight is demiromantic - meaning he only experiences romantic attraction after forming an emotional connection with someone (many say that this is just regular attraction, but the best way to differentiate it is to say: The average person falls in love with another person while they get to know them. Demiromantic people fall in love only after getting to know the other person.)
Another submission to Bellasaurusās monthly challenge. This month was to draw a scene from book one as you imagined it.
This is the scene from chapter 23 when Clay pushes Peril back into the tunnel when he heard wing beats, they had been tying to escape by travelling down a cliff and into a cave. I adore Perils character and her relationship with Clay, so I wanted to find the moment in book one that showed off one of the reasons she got so attached to him.
I prefer viewing them as friends after Peril healed a bit and realized that Clay doesnāt really like her back in the same way. They are just so cute though, I love Peril so much. I used to hate shipping them but someone has opened my eyes to being more open. I personally just canāt see Clay being romantic, he gives me true Mudwing vibes of siblings first and always.
I am not super happy with this piece and I even made a sketch with a better composition and expression after I semi-completed this, but I simply did not have the time to make a whole new thing. The background is not as good as I hoped either but itās not necessarily a bad drawing, so I mind as well show it off. Maybe I will revisit this another time.
Itās a me!
My submission to Bellasaurusās monthly challenge. This one was to draw a character from different media as a wings of fire dragon.
Decided to do characters from Call of Duty Modern Warfare, mostly based off of the reboot games. But I had so many ideas for this and it was honestly really fun, so Iāll probably do this again in the future with the other ideas I had.
Price is a bigwings Mudwing because heās a protector and definitely has some family like feelings for his soldiers. Heās more dedicated to his job and team rather than intimate relationships, a very Mudwing ideology, plus heās big and imposing. As for colours, he just seemed military green to me.
Gaz is a Seawing. I honestly didnāt know what to make him since heās a more complex character but Seawing just felt right. He is loosely inspired by a catfish found in the UK that is not native to the area because I wanted to. I feel bad that I donāt have more to say because I honestly like his character a lot, but I will at least acknowledge that he was my favourite design, plus his hat turned out really well. It feels like something the dragons would actually wear, not just a human hat slapped on there.
Soap is a Skywing because heās Scottish. Also, heās called Soap because heās really good at clearing a room of threats, so I imagined a more brutal version of him being a Skywing with really hot fire and just burning a room to see if anything comes running out⦠it felt right, idk. Also, I like making Skywings based on birds, he is based on a Scottish crossbill.
Ghost is a Nightwing/Icewing hybrid because those two tribes have made a reputation of themselves for being bad parents with lots of trauma making⦠which fit. Plus he has a āIām mysterious and coolā thing, but under all that clothes all I can imagine is a very pale and blonde man untouched by the sun, hence why he is blindingly bright. I imagine he tries to hide as much of his light colours as possible so that he is more Nightwing.

Quandong and Orange.
This started out as a redesign of an old oc since I havenāt drawn WoF for a few years, but mid way though I felt like I changed them too much and got very sentimental to the original. So new oc with some similarities to the old one but not many. Named after a tree with bright blue fruit.
Saw @spookys1fan do silhouette and design practice with anthro Wing of Fire dragons and got inspired to draw my own.
I leaned more into my headcanons and ārealisticā style, focusing less on silhouettes cause I wanted them as bases so I can make character designs faster. Drawing dragons bases for design is something Iāve wanted to do for a while, but doing them normally made colouring designs kinda inconvenient because they didnāt fit on a page very nicely and I struggled to keep them simple. Studying Spookyās made the tribes easier to simplify and the anthro designs means I can fit them together nicely without having to overlap.
Also stole some design elements from Spooky like the leafwing tail, so credit for the ideas! Here is her post this is inspired off of:

Seawings! 2/2
Fons mare (Fons is a spring, fountain, well, or source of water in Latin)
Slightly more blubber than shallow mares (the fresh water they occupy tends to be colder)
Darker, less saturated colours
- Yellow to teal, grey, brown (Fresh water animal patterning)
Short, broad wings (smaller for swimming in rivers and other narrow spaces)
- Good fliers for short distances
Smaller lux scales (fresh water is darker, so less light from scales is needed to see the signs)
Shallow mare
Most populated beside Reef mares
Some blubber
Range of cool colours
- Green to violet (Wide range of marine life patterning, not as colourful as Reef mares)
Long and thin wings
- Gliders, skim water like flying fish
Open mare
Fairly common population
Some blubber
Light cool colours
- Teal to indigo, grey, white (Simplistic patterns, strong counter shading)
Streamline fins and ears (for less drag when swimming - no external sensory organs for same reason, they have the best eye sight and speed so they donāt need them)
Very long and thin wings (evolved to live without land, imagine albatross birds)
- Great soaring and diving fliers
Dull lux scales (need lux scales to be large because of light amount but counter shading is important so the lux scales colour needs to match the counter shading)
Reef mare
Smallest (to fit in reef caves)
Very little blubber (warm water and islands, donāt need to retain much heat)
Wide range of colours, bright colours
- Red to purple, black to white (Tropical fish patterning)
Big, decorative fins (big fins gather and release heat, decorative for camouflage in reef)
Small thin wings (so they can maneuver in small caves)
- Good fliers, skim water like flying fish
Decorated sensory organs (fins connected to sensory organs)
Large colourful lux scales (close to the surface means lux scales need to produce a lot of light to have signs understood)
Seawings! 1/2
The images will have general information while the following will expand more where I want. Also, itās messy, I donāt care.
Subname: Mare (The sea in Latin)
- A name used when talking causally and referring to the different subtypes
Monarch: Queen Coral
Common attributes
Gills behind jaw/ears (gills are connected to the mouth so water can pass through them)
Small horns (little to no purpose for them)
Barbels on chin (sensory organ - sensory organs also include three bands between the horns, and barbels on the wrist)
Frills on neck, chest, back, and cheek
Strong fluke tails (Whale shaped tail, typically resembling an orcaās tail)
Plantigrade stance
Three finger wing (Evolved for one finger to be smaller with less membrane so they can use their wings for grabbing when on land - they are too heavy on land and need their hands for standing)
Lux scales (light emitting scales - light in Latin)
Queen Coral - Open/Reef mare
*royal family is predominantly Reef, Shallow, and Open mares. They are labelled off of how they look as the subtypes are mixed anyway
*royal markings and thin repeating lines on the wings as well and dots and stars
Arctic mare
Largest (to retain heat because less surface area per pound of body mass)
Most blubber (to retain heat)
Dull colours
- Greys, navy blues, white (Arctic mammal patterns)
Short tail (can propel their body easier and retain heat better)
Small ears, no cheek fin (retain heat)
Broad wings (so they can actually propel their body weight when flying)
- Weak fliers
Less developed sensory organs (external sensory organs did not retain enough heat)
Deep mare
Second largest
Slightly less blubber than Arctic mare
Dark colours, deep bright colours
- Purple, dark blues, black (Little to no counter shading)
Short tail (same as arctic)
Small ears, little to no fins (large fins would lose body heat)
Small and thin wings (resemble penguin flippers)
- Cannot fly, developed for swimming
Large sensory organs (so they can better navigate dark areas)
Small lux scales (large lux scales would be too bright in such a dark environment, their eyes are more sensitive to light)
