Right now I'm on the waiting list to be formally accepted as a real alter and not a figment of the host's imagination lol. It's like waiting for a passport, shit takes forever
Host: Remembers 2% of an average day from childhood without context or an emotional connection to them and only for 5 minutes
Also Hosts:but... I can remember my childhood perfectly...I must be faking!
Fucking epic news guys, the two dudes missing eyes in our system fused and now cannot see.

Also me: okay but she got me what I wanted at the schoolastic book fair, checkmate asshole
Chris is that a weed? I'm calling the police!: do any of your alters smoke/do drugs? If so, how do the others feel about it?
None of us do any drugs or smoke. Never had much interest in it, but don’t judge those who do.Â
Anybody else do that thing where you say something but you didn't actually say it you just thought it super hard?
How half our system expresses love: You matter to me, and you're a valued and important person ♥️♥️
The other half: If we didn't share a body I'd kick your ass
Ignore if you'd rather not answer, but how often on average do you switch between alters? Multiple times a day, once a week, a few times a month?
For therapy, we’ve had to monitor our switching/ who switches. In incredibly stressful environments, we switch five or more times a day. In stressful environments unrelated to abuse/ normal stress we switch about three times a day. In safe and unstressful environments we switch about two or three times a week.Â

questions for systems who have jobs:
do your coworkers know you’re a system? if so, how did you tell them–and how did they react? if not, how do you cope with having to present as a singlet (especially if you’re an overt system)? and regardless, how does being multiple affect how you work?Â
I have DID, and I am relatively overt, but none of my co-workers know I have DID. I am particularly concerned about discrimination so I keep my diagnosis to myself. However, for some things that are relevant to work, I’ll tell my coworkers/supervisors that I have a disability that effects my memory. A few of my co-workers have PTSD and/or ADHD and that can be similar.
Usually people will make their own reasonings for you acting inconsistently. A lot of the time it’s way more obvious to people who know you better than it is to people who don’t, like coworkers. I don’t have issue acting like myself and don’t pretend to be anything I’m not.
Despite there being laws in place that are supposed to prevent discrimination based on disability, unfortunately it still happens, so I would be hesitant to let supervisors etc know that I have a very stigmatized disorder, especially if my income depends on them thinking I’m reliable.
While we’re currently unemployed, we’re rather over as well. Accents, different ways of dressing, radically differing opinions… All of it.
When we did have a job, we… Didn’t hide anything. Now, to be clear, we also didn’t mention that we had DID. Discrimination is enough of an issue without bringing that into it.
However, people really are less likely to notice than you’d think. Once you’re aware of something, you start looking for it. But, if someone seems more aggressive/easily upset for no reason, you don’t jump to “oh it’s another person” but instead “oh they’re upset because they had a bad day, or woke up wrong, i shouldn’t pry”. It’s a different set of circumstances.
The accents, if you have them, can usually be explained away easily as well. “Sorry, I spent all day yesterday binge watching sherlock / listening to british podcasts” is an example that most people immediately just… accept. Which is hilarious because you can extend that to any accent, including new ones, and just say you pick them up easily and got stuck in that one because you listened to it for too long.
Currently, we’re unemployed, but work on commissions. Friends know we have DID, as do people who find us from this account, but if you looked at our DA, FA, Twitch, etc, you’d find it remarkably empty of any mention of DID as well. It’s just not worth the hassle, for us. But, trying to present as a single person is also too much hassle, and honestly, it tends to give the opposite result of people finding you strange at minor changes. That’s just our experience, however.
We have DID, and we're decently covert except for accents. We've worked several different jobs and have a current job, and only ever told one manager. We were having an extremely hard time with a persecutor and had no way to explain it away with how exhausted we were, and we were at the point of crying so we just told her. We asked how much she knew about DID first, and she said she had just learned a lot about it. We told her. She didn't treat us like separate people or a threat or an interesting project afterwards, just saying she hoped things got better for us and that if we needed anything she was there for us. We were closer to her after than we have been any manager and keep in touch. I don't expect this is the average reaction. We've never told any other coworker. As for managing as a singlet, it's easier than expected. DID is just not on most people's raidar. When we forget task we were taught how to do they assume we're pretty new and they just never taught us. We have an accent suddenly? We're being silly and they should join in because it's fun. We have a dress code so there's no chance to dress differently. Even very heavy dissociation was explained with "I'm a bit slow today" which was met with "mood". We have even referred to ourself as we on accident while people were watching and they figured we meant "we" the company we work for or "we" as in us and the person standing next to us. Just keep in mind, they're probably not expecting a system or looking for it.
Okay so we had open heart sugery a long time ago, and we completely forgot about two sets of scars from it and managed to just block out these scars from memory every time we looked at them and instead of the host thinking anything was wrong/ maybe he has memory problems he just went “Damn.” and moved on like???? Liam, honey, please, that’s not normal lmaoo.Â
