Mewtwo was still gathering facts regarding their situation, and couldnāt be sure of their motives. Some sort of experimentā¦perhaps similar in the way that humans pitted Pokemon against one another in battle to āreap their potentialā. But he refused to be treated as an experiment. Never again.Ā "Enough of themātoo many. Butā¦why?" he seems to be asking himself more than Meowth, zoning out as he often did.Ā When he returns to reality, eyes narrow and pin to the smaller Pokemon. "Are youā¦.safe here? Do you have a place to sleep?" he wasnāt exceptionally willing to take in a Pokemon who seemed so close to humans, but Mewtwo couldnāt reject one in need. It had grown to be a part of his nature.Ā
"Who knows? Could be dat dey thought we looked interestin'. Maybe dey know a good, tough Pokemon when dey see 'em, 'n' there's no doubtin' dat some o' dese Trainers pack a mean punch! Gonna have ta do some diggin' ta be sure."
Meowth strokes his chin thoughtfully, pulling at a whisker. "Anyway, I dunno about bein' safe...I ain't exactly no fully-evolved Persian dat bested th' League or nothin'...but I got a place ta stay, even if it is some dusty underground chamber..."
He's being indirectly pitiful, of course.
