in THIS universe to become a catholic saint you have to die because they need to be able to evaluate your entire life from beginning to end, usually there is a 5 year waiting period, the church assigns someone to investigate how devoted you were to god and catholic teachings, the vatican has to peer review it, and they have to confirm you performed at least two miracles to canonize you. (though martyrs can sometimes bypass one miracle requirement iirc).

in the RIVERDALE universe you can be a living saint. you just have to perform three miracles with increasing dramatics involved, so as to have a pleasant three act structure to your one-off "achieving sainthood" episode. i dont even think you have to be religious in any significant way to do it.

and, per the post i made that i know that caused you to ask this question, adam parrish meets that requirement from his three miracles. when it comes to sainthood miracles theres a lot of variation but typically the way it works is that the Saint in question is in danger in some way and suddenly is saved by seemingly divine intervention.

adams three miracles:

1) getting shot point blank by whelk in the raven boys but the bullet somehow doesnt pierce his skin (i forget whether it just goes straight through him or just bounces off him)

2) the thorn that pierces roberts hand from out of nowhere when hes about to hit adam in blue lily lily blue

3) when that big pile of construction slabs falls on him and all of it just explodes around him and theres a perfect circle surrounding him that the debris doesnt even touch
