since this is not a wc story anymore, do the groups still have specific roles?

they just have a lead cat and that’s basically it, wild is kind of the trailblazer for feline medical science for better or worse LMAO.. other than that they’re very loose, community-oriented groups and they function more like safe havens for wandering cats. except for the darrows but we all knew that… also, the darrows have a chaplain who is both their leader and a priest/religious figure for every clowder.

i definitely plan on making a little roster post on the new blog! unfortunately, i will say phlox ended up cut which sucks because i LOVED phlox and xir flamboyant design/personality. scarlet was able to fill xir role alone, so i was like.. why do i have two of these very similar guys when i can just have the one who is also 10x more important... also, phlox started to feel a little out of place in the overall tone of the story. like having georgette from oliver & company in silence of the lambs. i'm so sorry phlox fans..

Hi! How is writing going? Did the change of the medium (from a comic to an illustrated novel) influenced plot a lot? Or is the change purely cosmetical?

writing and planning is going great albeit slow! i don’t want anyone to think i’ve abandoned this story because i work on it every day. sometimes it’s as simple as a new sentence or a pacing tweak but cathedral is constantly in progress! as for the plot, some things have changed since i last posted anything noteworthy. i combined and cut a few characters to debloat the giant cast.. i’m loving its direction and tone and i feel it’s more cohesive than ever.

rook: a very put-together, very accurate costume of one of his favorite historical artists.

splinter: something gory and off-putting as hell… don’t let her out unsupervised..

moth: a character from a movie that is visually basic with zero iconography so nobody can tell if he’s going as himself or not.

wild: evil sexy nurse.

bentley: she doesn’t bother with whimsy.

scarlet: ^ but this one does. glinda from the 1939 wizard of oz — would do the voice and everything.

milk: she stays inside and hands out bibles to the kids

darcy: basic costume like michael myers but her overall presentation/facelessness/energy makes you wonder for a second if michael myers himself has materialized in real life. scary.

wolfgang: evil sexy burglar

On pricing, if you’re going the self pub route, most self publishing websites have suggested prices. (On Amazon the lowest you can go for paperback is $12.99 while on B&N it’s a lot higher around $15.) I’m an indie author myself and while it all looks daunting at first, it’s easier to figure out when you do get around to it. ^^
