day 7: historic (kinda)

Cat!Aeon, aka “Felinera”, based on an AU where Adrien doesn’t take back the ring and Aeon steps up instead. In this AU, Aeon is a cyborg human whom Olympia rescued as a child, but she uses the robot AI story as a cover for her hero identity being so close to Majestia. (This is less to do with “technology doesn’t vibe w kwami” and more to do with uhhh The Implications™.)

I went with a more traditionally magical girl look because I’m tired of skin-tight suits. She has a small bow on the back that splits into two ‘tails’. The silver thing on her neck ribbon is supposed to be the cat bell. (She does have a mask, and her eyes are silver, I just cannot draw faces)

I also have an alternate version where she has skin and leggings, and a canon belt tail instead of ribbons.

so the uhhhh problem with having the darkest skinned black girl in a cast be a robot AI whose design is clearly meant to be like. android-like with the hinged limbs. is that it’s really iffy to edit their robot form without some wack implications.

like i was gonna desaturate her plating even more to give her a sort of solid material feeling. but no matter which way i go about it, it just feels. incredibly dehumanising. i’m still not sure what i’m doing tbh.

day six: kwami swap

warnings: canon-levels of Gabriel being a creepy bastard manipulating kids which is still a lot, emotional manipulation of and by Marinette but she’s more-or-less aware of it, a lack of really serious angst because this is self-indulgent wish fulfilment and I dumped all of my serious feelings into misericordia and am not doing it again, and also deliberate OOCness for Marinette because fuck you if HP fandom can have troves of dark!Harry fic so can I

So Marinette still becomes Ladybug, but secretly defects to Hawk Moth’s side during Evillustrator and becomes a mole to suss out the Guardian. Tikki can’t stop her or warn Fu because of the Miraculous, so Ladybug and Hawk Moth play along as enemies for a while to cement Ladybug’s trustworthiness in the Guardian and Paris’ eyes until “Volpina” happens.
