When Chris got his first love letter, he wasn't honestly sure what it was that he was supposed to do with it. Matters of the heart were not exactly what he was well versed in, and he hadn't even been aware that the person in question was holding any figment of feeling for him beyond simple companionship. He, unfortunately, had turned them down. Along with the several more that came on Valentine's Day. Apparently, his refusal had been so genuine and sincere that he'd garnered more interest. A gentleman through and through was how the rumors had gone.
As he went up in age, thus did some of the minor nuances of the relationships he was in. He dated a few times casually, although it was never anything serious, and every time one came to an end it was always on very peaceful terms. The only time this started to change was once he got injured during baseball and had to be pulled off of active practice.
Unfortunately during this time he was very... cold, to those that expressed their interest in him. He was still capable of handling people with a certain amount of decency, but he garnered quite the reputation for being distant and standoffish with those that continued to admire him. Ever since then, the love letters had stopped, and many of his admirers chose to keep themselves at a respectable distance.
Thus, as it currently stands, Chris hasn't dated since back before his 3rd year. He may have a bit of a flame for someone, but he's not at all aware of it yet.

When was the last time that the two of them had actually had some down time together? The elder of the two men couldn't actually pinpoint a date as to when him and Sawamura were able to just be with one another freely. In the past, it had always been games, and training, and practice. Here in Toshi, it seemed almost like a calm before the storm.
Not that he was complaining, not at all. Especially when his honeyed gaze traveled down to the boy resting peacefully against his thigh, mouth open in a sleepy bliss that still seemed to reflect his cheer, even in slumber. Unbidden, Chris ran a hand through the boy's hair, brushing damnable locks of brown from the pitcher's eyes and brow.
They'd been out playing catch earlier on in the day, but when stormy clouds began to unleash upon them a threat of rain, the upperclassman had insisted on calling it for the day. His shoulder was still just barely warming up to the workout catching for Sawamura was after all, he wasn't about to push his luck and end up out of commission once more.
That meant however that the two of them had plenty of time on their hands. Enjoying the boy's company, Chris invited him back to his apartment, setting the two of them up for a movie of Eijun's choosing. He should have expected the sporty request, but was surprised to find that apparently with the rain-- he'd fallen asleep in a short amount of time.
He chuckles softly under his breath now as the boy stirs at his touch, shaking his head and making a noise of protest as he curls towards the elder's unmistakable warmth. Chris puts an arm around him carefully, securing him against his person as the climax of the movie plays on in a lowered murmur of background noise.

Rose: Roses can mean many things, but they’re mostly associated with romance. Write about one of your muse’s loves that didn’t go well!
Hydrangea: It’s a rainy scene and our muses are together, getting drenched. It just so happens that amidst the sea of hydrangea, they found a body. Write about their reactions towards it.
Gypsophila: Weddings! Write about our muses attending a wedding together— or even having their own! Who is the best man and maid of honour?
Iris: Seeking wisdom, your muse has decided to visit the library. Write about our muses going there and discussing their favourite genre of books— unless, there is something more interesting they could talk about, of course.
Clover: You’re in luck! Write about our muses winning the lottery together and having to share the prize. What did they win? A trip to the hot springs!

。゜My Spark ゜。
Was he ever willing. Eijun skipped a couple of steps, arms flailing about with his excitement. The shops weren’t too far, but far enough that he got to have Chris all to himself for a while! Walking to the shops, looking at the shops, maybe going in a few if that was what Chris wanted, then dinner, and then catching, and maybe even more after that!
Since he was leading, Eijun was a few steps ahead of Chris. He twirled on his heels to walk backwards and talk. “So what are you doing in uni?” He asked. He would have liked to follow the question up with ten more: what’s your class schedule going to be like? Are you going to have much free time? Are you going to have free time I could steal? Can you catch for me more often? What do you think about coming by and helping our team when we get a full one? But Eijun kept them to himself and stuck with one question, lest he annoy Chris.
It was impossible not to watch the boy with his exuberance of energy, and Chris cocked a smile at him as he followed the youth on his excursion into the buzzing city. There was so much to look at, but a longstanding desire to care for the other kept his gaze returning back. He'd be ready to pull at him in case he ran into anyone by chance. He didn't want Sawamura hurt after all.
He perked up a little at the question however. Both brows rose as his attention returned, having been window shopping casually as they walked. Uni? It was strange to think that soon enough he'd be elbow deep in studies, he'd only have a few months of freedom before the new semester began. "I'm studying to be a rehab trainer. I feel like since I've the experience firsthand that it'd be well suited for me."
Chris chuckled a little in turn. "Are you keeping up with your studies, Sawamura?" A part of him was hesitant to ask. He'd never really been aware of how well the boy had been in school, though if he was able to continue with a baseball career, his grades would have needed to stay within a certain range. That fact was hopeful, at least.

Eijun hugged the bags to him and shook his head sternly. “No way! Carrying them all around town is training! I gotta train everywhere since I don’t have any training at school!” He shifted hold on the bags, however, so the duffel strap was across his chest and he could slide the other backpack strap on. They weren’t that heavy. His backpack only had a couple of books and then an assortment of junk and manga. The duffel bag had a pile of baseballs, his mitt and a spare, as well as two bats. Yup, carrying this stuff was nothing compared to running around with some tires! Which he planned to do later tonight…
Thinking about where to go was put on hold at Chris agreeing to catch for him later. Eijun was practically shining with delight. “Really?! Yes!” He punched the air in his victory. Chris was going to catch for him! Could this day get any better?! “How about we ski-” Eijun shut his mouth with a audible clamp as he stopped his sentence.
Chris wanted to go around the city, so Eijun shouldn’t get greedy and trying to get him to catch now, right? Right! Chris didn’t like it when Eijun got too full of himself and was rude, and it was probably rude to completely disregard Chris wanting to go around the city… So Eijun turned a smile to him as if he hadn’t just stopped mid-sentence. “Well there’s a lot of cool shops down this one street not too far from here. And then there’s this ramen shop I’ve been going to recently that I really like if you want to get some dinner!”
Chris couldn't help but shake his head in turn, he should have known better than to even ask. Sawamura had always been a bit of a busybody when it came to any form of training, and considering the city's lack of proper space and facilities -at least as far as he'd seen-, the pitcher probably felt that he'd lose his touch if he didn't constantly keep his body active.
Eijun's enthusiasm never seemed to grow old however, and the elder smiled warmly cheered in victory. It was such a menial thing, why he felt the need to be so ecstatic over it had always been a mystery to the upperclassman. His brow quirked a little higher when he caught the beginning of a suggestion, but when it fell quiet, he could only continue to look at the other curiously.
Eager as always.
His honeyed gaze returned to the boy as he finally began to speak once more, head tilting in consideration before giving a singular nod in approval. "That seems wonderful. If you're willing to lead me, Sawamura, then let's go."
。゜My Spark ゜。
This was the best day ever. Sure, he hadn’t managed to find any teammates, but that paled in comparison to learning Chris had moved into town. Eijun bounced on the balls of his feet and nodded energetically. In response to Chris’s warning. Eijun remembered everything Chris taught him. Really, he did! Any words that came out of Chris’s mouth were part of his baseball bible and he would be loathe to forget anything from it.
At the invitation to spend time with Chris, Eijun broke out into a giant smile. Lucky! “Good point! I was about to call it a day too! I’ve totally figured out my way around the city now too, so I can be your guide!” He twirled around and raced back to his original post by the bike racks to gather his baseball supplies and backpack. It may have been a bit of an exaggeration that he figured his way around the city by now, but Chris didn’t need to know that.
Eijun trotted up next to Chris with his backpack slung over one shoulder, his baseball duffel bag on the other. Since they weren’t an official club yet and thus didn’t have a place to store things, Eijun had taken to carrying around all baseball supplies he could. Sure, he could keep things in the apartment, but then there was less of a chance of practicing at school and roping in new members!
"Where do you want to go, Chris-senpai?" He asked, looking up with a blinding, hopeful smile. "And hey, maybe when we’re done you could catch some of my pitches?"
Chris watched the boy bounce on his feet, smiling affectionately at the energy that always seemed to thrum though him like a current of electricity. How he was constantly on such an upswing, he wasn't sure he'd ever know, but it certainly had a way of pepping up all those around him given the right mood. He, himself, even found that he'd become a bit of a victim to the boy's cheer.
He waited patiently for the pitcher to return, shaking his head a time or two as he stepped away in order to encourage the both of them out of the schoolyard. "I'll look forward to your guidance, Sawamura." Chris admitted genuinely, glancing down at the bags swinging from the his back and shoulder. "Would you like to drop those off somewhere? There really isn't much need for you to carry them all around town..."
It was hard to not immediately fall back into the same old careful routine. He knew that the other could likely handle plenty, but they were relaxing and catching up. There was always a time for business, but this was a luxurious reprieve, at least for him. Chris didn't want to see the other practicing, at least not yet. His attention turned back to the beaming boy, brows lowering as he pondered on where the two of them could possibly go.
"I'm afraid I really have no destination in mind, I just got in. I'm in your care, so if you're willing to lead me, I will attempt to follow you wherever you go." But of course his lips quirked fondly at the never-ending request of the pitcher. "If you're willing to have me, I would enjoy the opportunity to catch for you once more."

No way! Eijun scrambled to catch the ball, at least having the advantage of a mitt. He dropped the ball and mitt to rub at his eyes, double check that was he was seeing was real. But that voice was Chris’s. It really was! That was Chris! What was Chris doing here?
"Chris-senpai?!" Eijun raced across the distance left between them, an extra pep in his step as he came to a stop in front of Chris bouncing in place. "I’m trying to find members for the team! We don’t have a bullpen or anything yet. There’s no team at all at this place! Furuya is slacking on getting members. He’s lazy as ever. But don’t worry, we will get a team together by the end of the school year!" He said everything in a rush, just to make sure Chris knew exactly what the situation was. Eijun was most certainly not slacking on his practice or ditching his team. He had neither at the moment…
Certain there was going to be misunderstanding between him and his most honored mentor, Eijun immediately asked, “What are you doing here?!”
Members for a team? Such a place as this was lacking in the sports department if they didn't even have that much... perhaps they were more inclined to other extracurricular activities, it gave food for thought to the studying trainer.
One brow raised however at the mention of the beastly pitcher, surprised by the ease of their friendship even now after seeing it several times over. He shakes his head once, a ghost of a smile pulling at his lips.
"I'm glad to see you being proactive about it, then. Here's hoping that you can pass along some of your energy to your teammate. I have faith that you two will get far so long as you try hard enough." Chris gives a bit of a chuckle, bumping his knuckles gently into Sawamura's shoulder in jest. "Just don't overwork yourself, remember what I've taught you."
The hand that had risen to push lightly at the boy lowers, and the elder cocks his head at the query sent his way. "I came to study, there's a nice atmosphere here that makes it easy to focus. There's a lot of promise in the townspeople as well. I suppose you could say I was curious." He grins. "I finished moving my things in earlier, and I don't think you'll be finding many teammates up here due to the hour... Why don't we take a look around together? You can show me the city and maybe we can advertise your team along the way."

Not having an established baseball team was frustrating, to say the least. But being discouraged was, to say the least, something Eijun Sawamura did not do. Upon learning from Furuya that they had to build a team from the ground up, Eijun had spent every day after school looking for potential members. He started by just trying to hand out flyers, but people avoided people with flyers.
So he was trying a new tactic. A tactic of chucking baseballs at random students leaving the school to first test their reflexes, then their throwing arm when he asked for them to pass it back. This test would have probably been easier if he had someone else with him better at judging other people’s skills… But anyone that could throw and was in the slightest interested in baseball was good enough for Eijun!
Sadly no one had yet to be pulled in by his tactics. But as long as he kept trying, maybe, just maybe he could find a new teammate.
It was late, so there were very few people left around the school. Eijun sat by the bike racks, throwing his ball in the air and catching it again casually. No targets in sight for the past twenty minutes… Maybe it was time to call it a day and head to a practice field…
Someone was coming up to the school. Someone perhaps forgot a book or something. Either way. Target acquired! “Heads up!” He cheered at the top of his lungs, tossing the ball hard enough that it would reach him, but soft enough it was easily catchable. Wait- did this guy look familiar or-?
There was something almost reminiscent about walking into a schoolyard like this. Everyone was practically gone, and the afternoon was well on it's way into evening. Even so, the school still was filled with a promise that Chris could see. A familiar type of potential that he felt he'd been far from for a period of time way longer than he'd ever hoped.
It showed, to a degree, when a ball and cheer came in his direction. Thankfully, it was an easy toss, something playful to the spin despite a lofty curve. Impossible-- but could it be?
A honeyed gaze was lifted from his hand to the spirited ball owner, a quirk of his lips the first sign of remembrance that skirted across his features. Typically dazed as he was, it was no surprise that seeing the familiar pitcher brought a light to his eyes like no other.
His energy, even now, was contagious.
"Still playing games, I see, Sawamura."
The catcher gave a roll of his shoulder before he sent the ball back on the return, feeling the familiar pull of muscles still unused to play as he followed after it with a few trotted steps. Spiritedly as ever, Eijun was a sight for sore eyes for the genius player.
Perhaps the promise that he was feeling lied in this one.
"You're not slacking off out here, are you? You should be in the bullpen or on the mound."
。゜My Spark ゜。
The move into Toshi was thankfully uneventful, even despite the seemingly large buzz of activity that swirled like a core to the never ending city. He'd arrived just as a new business opened their doors to the public, and considering the poster or two that he'd stumbled across, he felt more than a little pleased that he was set back away from the likely cacophony it'd be once the word had spread far enough.
He'd made the move to embrace a much calmer atmosphere; one in which he'd hold tight to his promise of studying while continuing rehabilitation for a shoulder injury that he just couldn't quite kick. Strenuous book work certainly couldn't do much harm to him, all things considered.
With most of his fixtures moved in and adjusted to his liking, along with time to spare-- work was the last thing that'd come to mind once he'd finished with the necessities. He knew people in this city. Those that he'd missed and would greatly enjoy a reunion with, even if a few proved to be a chore.
Chris set out from his apartment with a particular person in mind; one Sawamura Eijun. He hadn't thought to notify the boy of his arrival, though he was certain considering his train of thought on most occasions that something as menial as him arriving would be overlooked. What the boy was up to in this place was something else entirely, maybe he'd have the time after all...
Considering the hour, he set off, hoping that he'd find the loud mouthed pitcher at the school he'd seen just up on the hill.
