Being parents with Halsin and telling your child stories before bed
"Little Oak, why aren't you asleep?" Halsin asked, coming back from the woods with a pile of logs in his arms. "You seem to be giving your mother some trouble," he chuckled. Sitting on the piles of fur and cloth was his wife. "Come here, you little rascal." You said, yanking the small elf child in your arms, giggles explode, "Mama!" She yelps. Halsin was working on the fire as he looked up; this warmed his heart. "She is giving me trouble; she won't lie down for bed, uh. " Bursting into laughter, she nodded. "Okay, fine, I'll lie down, Mama. But can Papa tell us a story, please?" She says, bouncing up and down.
Looking up at Halsin with a wide grin Halsin chuckled, finishing the fire that burned in the middle. "Okay, little oak, go get comfortable with your momma." He said, watching the little ball of energy, who looked identical to both of them in her own way, he crouched down in the middle of both of you, leaning over and kissing the top of her head. your head. "Alright, which story do you want to hear?" Halsin asked, making her eyes go wide as stars. Her smile is big on her face; she gasped. "The story of how you met Momma," she gasped. "We have told you that multiple times," you said. Snickering in her hair, tucking her under you're arm.
"My love, it is fine. It is a great story after all," he says sweetly, looking at you. "Well, tell me again, please," she announced enthusiastically. Halsin nodded, watching you get comfortable. Your guys' daughter ended up in your lap, curling into the warm furs. "So your mom was lost; she needed help and came to the grove to seek help with some others," the little girl gasped.
"Oh, with Auntie Shadow Heart and the others." Halsin nodded. "Yes, little oak," he said, "but I was not there; you see, the goblins had kidnapped me."

Your cheeks turn a shade of red. Halsin chuckled. His eyes moved down to see your guy's child dozing off in your lap; her breathing was slowing down. "It works like a charm every time, my love." You said,
"Fingers dusted over her cheek, brushing her hair to the side." "It does, doesn't it?" You whispered to not wake her up. Halsin moved closer, wrapping his large arm around your body, tucking both of you under his embrace. He leaned down; his hair brushed your cheek, but that did not bother you at all. He whispered, "I love you," and he said, kissing your temple, as his head moved up to look at the sky. You looked up. "I love you too, Halsin," you quietly said, following his gaze to the sky as you both fell. into a quiet peace before falling asleep.
