I have a theory that whenever people are around Jensen and misha together…they treat them like they’re, together. Like they’re a couple. I’ve seen the spn cast sort of give them space and let them do their own thing… many times you’ll see jensen and misha being far away but somehow something accommodates them and they’re able to be close to each other. I definitely get this vibe from the spn cast that Jensen and Misha, whenever together, are like, a Thing, like a unit. Idk how to explain better

y’know something that really really pissed me off this ep was the fucking buckleming appropriation of the classic deancas “i need you” line. it’s honestly just symptomatic of everything that is wrong with them as writers–they saw something that worked a while back, and they tried to replicate it, but they ultimately have no sense of the many painstakingly well-developed reasons why it worked back in season 8. it’s the same when they kill characters–they understand that the act of killing a character in itself is meant to elicit a response, but they are totally unaware of the repercussions of the death within a greater context, and they don’t seem to understand that where other character deaths might have landed, been appropriate or emotional, their deaths are wildly out of character or in poor taste or just–uninteresting. they treat characters in much the same way–they take characters that are well-loved and well-developed, they tread down some well-trodden paths by exploring the most superficial, shallow, and easily accessible facets of them, and then reap the rewards by skimming off the top of something that someone already did the hard work to build for them. it’s the mark of a very bad writer to remove emotional moments from the circumstances that built them, do none of the work, and expect those moments to land in the same way. and it’s the mark of a bad writer to rely on the efforts of others without making any effort to understand what it is about theses efforts that really made characters and ideas work. there were good elements to this episode, but ultimately, bucklemming episode are vapid, vacuous, empty, and fucking lazy facsimiles of better episodes from better writers who actually bother to do the legwork required to expand upon the characters and the universe. and it’s never gonna stop being fucking depressing. 

All this means is that Dean will have to up his verbal game beyond just telling the people he loves that he needs them. Isn’t that where people thought this season was going?
