I'm Cas. I'm into a lot of things, mostly video games, rock music, and anime. (Also please note that I'm NOT a minor.)
If you're on desktop, perhaps you'd like to see my site's actual layout here!
My primary interests at the moment are Deltarune and Touhou, though it's also possible that I'll post about my other interests. These could include the Persona series, Nintendo games, Sonic, and whatever the hell else my brain decides to chew on at any given point.
A lot of my art reflects my interest in angst and introspection, and I do also occasionally draw blood/gore. Some of what I post might be upsetting or intense, so please keep that in mind.
Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy my dumb musings.

My attempt at a Touhou-styled Aqua, done in my best attempt at ZUN's art style (specifically from Touhou 8-11).
I find attempting to recreate different art styles a lot of fun, and I've been fascinated by ZUN's art for a while now, especially his older work. And since I've already wanted to draw Aqua in an outfit with more embellishments, the two ideas seemed to work well together.
Below the cut is a collection of the Touhou drawings I referenced from predominantly (though I did look at a ton of ZUN art while doing this), as well as some notes on my findings and what I tried to do with this.

My main hangup while playing Chapter 5 was Flowery having a black-and-white face sprite, whereas Ralsei's has colour, as Darkner face sprites usually tend to. However, when Flowery opens his eyes, his face sprite actually HAS golden eyes.
Considering how prominent the Holidays are in Hometown, it's not unreasonable that pine trees would show up wherever Dark Worlds have been so far. Even if they aren't visible, also consider that Ralsei usually has to find the Fun Gang whenever they enter a Dark World, rather than being there as soon as they enter.
If plants are neither Lightners nor Darkners, that would probably mean Ralsei always manifests the same way regardless of who makes the Dark World (contrary to how some Darkners won't form the same way if a Dark World isn't made with the same intent, like Susie's Dark World in Chapter 4 failing to revive Gerson). However, considering how closely he resembles Asriel, it's entirely possible that his initial form was manifested by whoever created him first, either Kris or Dess (if she is the Knight), and their connection to Asriel. Honestly, it would most likely have been Dess, considering the whole pine tree thing in the first place, and the fact that we've slowly been getting more insight as to how close Dess and Asriel used to be.
I had fun with this one. It was a good excuse to finally draw all of these characters (plus Mokou again for good measure).
I imagine this to be either a self-defense club, or maybe just part of their usual PE curriculum (which would make Yuugi the disembodied voice). Whatever makes the idea work, you know?
On their PE uniforms, I've also made a quick logo/emblem for Boundary High, just representing one of Yukari's gaps.
I couldn't help but notice this chapter's face sprites in particular, since there are some new ones here that seem a little different to the ones we've had.
(I will talk about spoilers from the main route and Weird Route, so please proceed with caution.)
Burgerpants/Pizzapants already had very unique expressions (just as he did in Undertale, all presumably taken more directly from Toby Fox's concept art) but the face he makes when yelling at the Nice Cream guy is pretty intense. Similarly, Susie has some new face sprites here that also stand out to me, though that might just be because I'm not used to them yet.
(The full mouth sprite is pretty funny. Susie All Yummies.)
I also can't leave out the incredible looks of horror Susie and Ralsei give each other while talking with Yellow. This looks like it might also be more closely taken from concept art?
Noelle also has some really cute sprites for when she's being held by Susie, sprites that actually surprised me when I first played the chapter - I honestly wasn't expecting unique sprites for this scene, it's such good attention to detail!
But on the topic of Noelle... oh, Noelle.
Fitting for how insane the Weird Route (or Side-B now) gets, Noelle has some particularly visceral face expressions. I'll probably talk a little more about Side-B later on in its own post, but for now, I'll just show you some of her faces from that scene.
I already thought her previous Weird Route-exclusive face sprites were unsettling, but these are genuinely horrifying. But that makes sense considering what happens. And somebody pointed out that some of these look a bit like Carol, which is especially interesting (and might lend more credence to my theory that Dess looked more like Rudy).
I'm someone who likes drawing faces and facial expressions, so I always like to appreciate detailed expressions when I see them, and I wanted to collect a few that I particularly liked. Deltarune (and Undertale before it) always have good sprite art, but somehow I found that a lot of the newest sprites from Chapter 5 really nailed it for me. I really have to commend the artists involved.
I knew I had to draw Aqua as soon as I encountered her. I mentioned it in my previous post, but she's very Touhou-influenced to me, being a cheery girl in a dress and ribbon who also just so happens to really enjoy violent games (like danmaku). Even her bullet patterns feel a little bit like Touhou bullet patterns.
The more I think about Chapter 5, the more it's growing on me. I really enjoyed it, it was so rich in personality while also feeling like a good send-off to the fun Dark Worlds before the game's final two chapters.
I finished the new chapter finally, and while I'm still thinking about it, I'll lay out some of my disjointed thoughts. The below post contains spoilers for the whole chapter (except Weird Route, I haven't done that yet), so please read with caution.
DESSRIEL REAL?? DESSRIEL CONFIRMED LIKE ACTUALLY??
I knew Toriel would have tried to call Kris while they were in the Dark World. There's even a spare key that Kris knows about, but the player doesn't!
Susie and Noelle are so so cute...
What the hell happened to Rudy?? Is he okay??
Flowery is such an interesting character. His anime intro, voice clips, and overall demeanour make him seem like he'll be an annoying character at first, but I actually ended up liking him quite a bit despite trying to get Asgore to leave the real world behind. The flowers are Asgore's friends, they're just trying to help him the only way they know how. It's also interesting that while Flowery doesn't really share much with Flowey aside from the name, they do seem to express a similar sentiment (at least at one point in Flowery's case) of avoiding becoming attached to others so as to not hurt yourself when they leave. I was also curious at first as to why his face sprite was black and white when he's seemingly a Darkner, but the end of the chapter describes flowers as living things that are neither Lightner nor Darkner (which raises interesting questions about Ralsei, though his face sprite is coloured...).
On the subject of the flowers, I really liked them! It was pretty interesting to see them (and by extension the human SOULs in Undertale) take form like this, they all fit the overall tone pretty well and had some fun dynamics with each other.
I LOVED AQUA!! SHE'S SUCH A CUTIE!! She and Seth have such fun chemistry! The two of them feel Touhou-influenced (Seth feels inspired by Patchouli, being a bookish purple character with a crescent moon detail, while Aqua feels more like a general Touhou-inspired character, being a girl in a dress and wearing a ribbon who loves knives and violence).
Honestly, I picked up on quite a few Touhou references throughout the chapter. A Floradinn in the first diner referencing Lunatic difficulty and the Phantasm stage, the red ribbon's description referencing Reimu and even looking like Reimu's ribbon when on Susie (with a spiked variant on her seen later looking a bit like Utsuho's ribbon), the fox hat armour piece (forgot the name) seeming to reference Ran Yakumo in its description, ZUNpets in the flower battle music, and possibly even Mew Mew's talking sprite being a full-colour bust portrait in the bottom-right looking a bit like typical Touhou dialogue sprites.
Speaking of Mew Mew, that was interesting! She's obviously the 'store mascot' figure Asgore owns, and while I didn't manage to finish the fight this time (I'll probably replay the chapter soon enough and complete it properly), I really loved the overall atmosphere, dating sim aesthetic, and reuse of the purple heart gimmick. Also, MIKU WAS IN THE SONG??
Seems like ZUN wasn't the mystery bullet programmer after all, but that makes sense. The Touhou references more than made up for it anyway, I think, and I could still tell that some of the patterns were done by someone else. Still very cool!
Overall, this was an incredibly interesting chapter in terms of character dynamics, family relationships, and in terms of exploring some of Undertale's unanswered questions in regards to the other SOULs. Flowery being the chapter's boss after having beaten a Titan last chapter feels a bit anticlimactic, but honestly, I can appreciate this chapter being one more fun romp through a Dark World before things get serious again (though despite supposedly welcoming Noelle to the team, things are still a little bleak with Asgore being taken by the Knight and Rudy having fallen down). When you consider that Chapter 5 was initially supposed to release with 3 and 4, it makes sense to think that it would've been a release sandwiching a serious chapter between two fun ones.
Anyway, sorry for that wall of text. I'm curious to see what develops in future chapters, and I'm especially curious to see what Chapter 5 does to the fandom in the time leading up to future releases.

So my Mokou Mii fell out of love with Kaguya in Tomodachi Life, and while I managed to quit without saving and restore it, it makes me wonder. Is it possible that a relationship between two Miis is doomed to fail behind the scenes?
It's taken them genuine weeks to get anywhere, and Mokou actually wanted to change gears and crush on Reisen instead at one point. They're both at the 'wants to confess' stage now, so is falling out of love a random occurrence, or is it bound to happen for some Miis?
I feel like clashing personalities have something to do with it, but I've also read that personality types don't really matter for Mii romance, unless that's only for developing crushes in the first place and not actually pursuing them. Reimu and Marisa have personality types that you'd think would clash, but they're happily married and have been pretty much since I started playing.
Kanako decided not to get into the ethical implications of this particular project.
I had a different comic lined up for the fourth one, but I had this idea on a whim and it took priority (usually the case with my art). And now that Yoshika is alive again, she gets to go to school! I'm sure she's very happy about that.
Kanako is meant to be a science teacher here. I don't really know if necromancy counts as science, but I figure the curriculum here would be a little different to what it is in the real world. I've already been trying to think about supernatural powers in this AU and how they'd keep those in check (like a danmaku/power management class where the students learn to responsibly utilise their abilities in the modern era).
