ok this might sound a little crazy but I made a post last year talking about different mr freeze fancasts I had for different decades. I didn't have an actor to play him for the 2000s but a few months ago I think I finally found one. I think if executed in the right way tony hale would be him. when watching arrested development I couldn't help but think that he would be a perfect fancast because to me he's almost exactly what freeze looks like in my head. buster and lucille 2 are very vicnora coded.

harley quinn and mr freeze get along with each other because of their respective and mutual bond of their crazy animals. I can also imagine this bond with the penguin. one of harley's distinct features about herself is the fact that she has two pet hyenas, bud and lou. mr freeze also has two pets of the same species but they are polar bears, notchka and shaka. to me the fact that they both have exotic animals would create a bond between them. also with penguin being the king of birds in gotham he would probably get along with freeze more because he has been depicted with penguins. penguin and freeze both like arctic animals and penguin probably has a climate control room for the penguin that freeze can go in.
freeze takes his polar bears everywhere because he was somehow able to register them as emotional support animals
nora fries is the best character to use to represent "haunting the narrative". obviously the only narrative she's haunting is mr freeze's but it's still an interesting concept nonetheless.
since 1992, she hasn't been used as a character as much as she should be. nora is such an interesting idea when used correctly. the idea of a sick and dying wife being frozen in time while her husband tries to cure her is one that is used very little. her being placed inside of a cyrotank and "watching" over her husband is quite menacing when you think about it. you can imagine the stress freeze that deals with every way because of her presence. and with her presence comes the "haunting of the narrative".
one of my funniest mr freeze connections is btas, batman & robin, and jingle all the way being connected by phil hartman. I don't remember where I read this but mark hamill stated in an interview that his inspiration for ferris boyle's voice was phil hartman. phil hartman played the neighbor in jingle all the way. in batman & robin, mr freeze ended up being played by arnold schwarzenegger who played the main character in jingle all the way. it all comes full circle because of phil hartman. technically we have a live action version of ferris boyle and mr freeze. technically the "PUT THAT COOKIE DOWN" scene is canon to mr freeze lore.
in detective comics #1016, during the mrs freeze arc of the mr freeze story in detective comics, there's a specific symbolism that stands out to me.
i want to say before I get too far, I really don't like this comic. I don't like what they did with nora but I do know that in recent years Mr freeze in detective comics has gotten to be a better character and have better plot points and stories. since this arc happened, freeze has definitely gotten more iconic moments and writers. although this comic is not on the top of my list, I do appreciate that we have gotten more vicnora interactions.
symbolism in comics can be tricky, especially with characters like mr freeze. but in this panel the symbolism of the graves of "victor fries" and "nora fields" implies that the people that mr and mrs freeze were before they both got sick are really dead. "as was establishing a final resting place for me if not in body, then in spirit. nora wanted me to see this. i'm indeed dead to her." freeze even acknowledges that although he isn't actually dead, victor fries most likely is. I know that nora is technically poisoned with lex luthor's serum he gave to freeze but it seems as if nora doesn't see freeze as her husband anymore. this is common in freeze's comics. nora usually leaves him for her second husband francis or actually dies. with the gravestones, the symbolism of death and renewal of the couple allows for the break up of victor and nora.
for detective comics, they aren't bringing nora back and even if they did I doubt that she would get back together with freeze. his most recent arc was great imo but I wish that we could get more comics of him pre-incident. the issue with a lot of mr freeze writers and comics is that the reuse a lot of the same concepts and storylines. with the repetition of the same stories, the stories get less interesting over time. writers at DC are scared of exploring more on freeze's backstory(although the last time they did that they ended up going down the nazi route...) I just want to say that the mrs freeze storyline is not the best thing the writers could do with nora and I prefer lazara...

i'm pretty sure that victor fries is supposed to be a subtle adaptation of victor frankenstein. let me run down some similarities:
both european, both are mad scientists, both had troubled childhoods, both experiment on the dead, both practice reanimation
i think that mr freeze might be victor frankenstein reincarnated

in freezenation the thing that we can agree on most is that victor is not as old as the writers and artists at DC depict him as. they draw and write him like he's a 70 year old man. HE"S NOT 70 YEARS OLD!!!!!!!! in heart of ice he was no older than 40 but for some reason these artists think they need to make him a 65 year old man. this makes it creepy because they draw nora like she's 25 years old. THEY DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEMATIC AGE GAP, THEY'RE THE SAME AGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's either you make victor also 25 or you make nora also 70 but that doesn't make any sense either so you might as well make victor 25.
the writers obviously don't understand the fact that their story is a tragedy because they were both so young when nora got sick and when victor turned into mr freeze. in deep freeze it's literally said in conversation between grant walker and freeze that freeze is immortal and will be young forever and that's why grant walker wants freeze to make him experience the incident like he did at gothcorp. again in batman: mr freeze 1997, freeze in his inner monologue literally explains his backstory and how he and nora met in college and then married a year later(I would retcon this imo, doesn't make any sense) and then victor became a professor at gotham university but he was young so he wasn't making a lot of money. idk but that doesn't scream 50 years old to me. and yes obviously in later years he's 50 but that's when he is freeze and doesn't age anymore. so tell me why these artists keep drawing him so freaking old. and even if you think that he's like 40 when he became freeze, how do you explain the fact that if he was like 30 when the incident happened and a year later he fights batman then he would still be in his thirties.

What mental ilnesses does victor have in your opinion.
i'm not an expert on mental illnesses or disorders but to me personally, I think that victor definitely has depression, but I headcanon him having autism, PTSD, (possibility) bipolar disorder, OCD, and obsessive love disorder.
I think that it's quite funny that every single batman rogue has a different gimmick. you can compare and contrast every villain and they'll all still be different from each other. costumes, gadgets, and flashyness all depend on how similar or different the rouges can be from each other.
you can't have scarecrow robbing the bank by cutting a hole in the window because that's catwoman's thing.
you can't have two-face setting the fire department on fire because that's firefly's thing.
you can't have harley quinn use polar bears to distract batman because that's mr freeze's thing.
you can't have poison ivy make a riddle about plants for batman because that's riddler's thing.
you can't have music meister sing a song about plants because plants are poison ivy's thing.
even without how they conduct their robberies and shenanigans, they all have different interests. this makes them different from each other because of their backstories and motivations. a lot of the gotham rogues have similar experiences with being in lab incidents or being disfigured or experimented on in the past which caused them to become a villain.
mr freeze became a villain because he's trying to save nora.
harley quinn became a villain because she fell in love with the joker.
mad hatter became a villain because he fell in love with someone that didn't love him back.
riddler became a villain because his boss didn't fw him.
all of the rogues are different but if you back up and squint it's all a blur.
