[He looked around, before looking down at a small rabbit. Almost immediately, he backed up, shrinking down and sitting on the ground so he'd be eye level with her.]

*[the rabbit was carrying a small basket, full of berries she had foraged. she held up her free hand to wave at the brute.]*

[He giggled, slowly raising his hand to wave back with his non-flesh hand.]

[He tilted his head to the side, long ears flopping slightly with the movement before lowering his head within range of her.]

*[she gently places her hand on the top of carnis's head and pets it, careful to not prick herself on any spines dotted across his skull.]*

Wooaah... You really are soft... I would pet you all day if I could!

[He purrs. Loudly. It still sounds like a failing jet engine, cutting in and out and all sputtery. The brute's eyes fall shut, tail thumping against the ground as he leans further into her hand.]

[Sniff. Sniff...sniffsniffsniffsniff. Carnis has a very sensitive nose, and practically gets up in Split's face to sniff him, like a particularly curious dog.]

yyooouuh... sssmm-mmelll niiiiicee...

*[split's doesn't move to push it off, however. their achy arms instead wrap gingerly around the back of carnis's head, pulling it slightly closer.]*

*[they smell of electricity, sweat, and lemongrass.]*

[Carnis giggles, almost playfully. Sniffing Split's neck, it's tail starts wagging like a helicopter. It smells like forest, grass, a vague hint of meat or blood— and petrichor.]

[Carnis has always been fond of physical contact.]

[Suddenly registering it's size, it pulls back and off of Split. It does sniff him once more, before licking his forehead in apology and whimpering. The sound is almost reminiscent of a sad puppy... that was gigantic and mutated.]

EHehehe- heh- wwhy so sad, man? y'didn't do nothin' wrong...

[Carnis cocks it's head at the change of voice, a curious, quiet little 'wouff?' escaping it.]

"Hffhh.. Snrk.. Pffuh.. pffhh... Uuuhh.. Hhhii.." Tincan craned his neck upwards, blinking lethargically. It was rather hot- and in an attempt to help cool himself down he had all four of his tongues spilling out of his mouth- each slimy appendage much too big for such a small head.

"Are.. Who are you?"

"I am Masin but I get called.. Tincan- for some.. Some reason- I don't get it, but uuehh.. It stuck- Sorry! Who are you? Who- name? Name! What's your name? Your name."

Tincan rambled on and blabbered almost aimlessly, it was a miracle he seemed to be even the slightest bit coherent.

[Carnis blinked, his one good eye seeming to dilate at the sight of this guy. Tilting his head, he bent down to be more eye level with Tincan.]

[The big brute's voice was deep and rumbly, and it clearly took a lot of effort to speak for him. He looked visibly frustrated the more words he spoke.]

Cc-cccca....rrrrniiiisssss...!

[Curling up his horribly mutilated flesh-and-spikes paw into a pointing position, he gently poked Tincan in the chest— no ill intent behind the action. His massive ears flicked curiously.]

Tincan blinked rapidly, letting out a huff- squinting.

"Do you- have- hhhaave.. Trouble-" Tincan let out a puff of frustration. "Sorry, you have trouble speaking?- Speaking too? Your- your words.. Sttretccheed.."
