Craig Erwich, the streamer’s senior vice president of originals, told TheWrap that Hulu remains open for business with Marvel, and that includes any title under the comic book powerhouse. “Marvel has a ton of titles we’d be interested in,” he said, when asked by TheWrap if Hulu would have interest in reviving one of those series.

We understand that a lot of this hinges on the shows getting bought back from Netflix. We don’t know what’s going to happen and what the possibilities are, but what we do know is that if there’s a company out there that WILL be able to apply pressure behind the scenes, it’s Disney. We’ll assume you’re aware, but for your followers who may not be - after the Disney Fox merger, Disney will officially own a majority share in Hulu, with a strong chance that the other stakeholders will sell off their share, giving Disney a 100% ownership stake. That means when we are looking at news of Hulu being interested in reviving the shows, that actually means Disney is interested in reviving the shows. 

As far as the two year thing goes, again, that’s something we are very aware of, and it doesn’t bother us. We’ve all waited years between these Marvel Netflix shows before, and MCU fans wait 2-3 years between movies all the time. We’re willing to be patient in order to see everything line up in order to bring these characters back on screen.

And would Charlie Cox or any of the actors want to come back? Great question! We don’t suppose to know what’s in anyone’s head, but we’re going to take the fact that we’ve been openly endorsed by Vincent D’Onofrio, Charlie Cox, Amy Rutberg, Geoffrey Cantor, Matt Gerald, Royce Johnson, Peter Halpin, Sunita Deshpande and other DD affiliated individuals from the crew who have personally reached out to thank us for putting together this effort to be a sign that we have a little bit of cast support behind us. We understand tensions might be running high right now, particularly with the fate of The Punisher as yet of now unknown. Please realize that we understand where those fans are coming from and we’re hoping for the best case scenario with that show. We have a feeling many of the fans supporting our campaign would be rallying quickly behind Punisher if anything were to happen outside of renewal. In the meantime, we’re keeping well informed of the current situation and realities, and even though we understand your concern, we do think there is something worth fighting for here. It might not end the way we want it to - that’s always a possibility, in any fight like this - but this show means a lot to many of us, and as these last few months have shown, many MANY fans.

Charlie isn’t done with the character and harbours hope that he’ll play Matt Murdock again in the future.

#SaveDaredevil gave me the drive to hop back into art after a long period of lack of drive and confidence for it. This is the first picture I’ve completed in over two years and the rust shows, so be gentle. :x

Notes:

1 - I had fun with the blue=Karen Matt=Red color symbolism in panel 4.

2 - I drew a tiny devil on the laptop, but you can’t really make it out lol.

3 - I’m aware I screwed up Karen’s S3 finale dress. I basically mixed her dress and her jacket together somehow. Dumb brain.

considering I have a stomach virus and haven’t had food in 30 hours…

but I have an experiment I kind of want to try.

I have another plot-y idea (I know, ffs finish your many WIPs) and I keep adding things (dialogue, scene ideas, etc.) What if I opened the Google doc for people to see/give input? I write all over the place (frequently as I’m falling asleep, so guess how that goes), but I’d try to explain my ideas as they evolve. Would it ruin the story (that might not see the light of day) or be boring as hell to a reader? Just wondering.

Here’s a little insight:

Matt and Karen are both vigilantes.

Matt thinks Karen’s methods are not great (she’s a Robin Hood-esque vigilante/reporter and one of her marks ends up dead by someone else’s hand, though he doesn’t know it until later) and thinks she’s more of a criminal than a hero at first until he realizes he’s being an idiot. They drive each other crazy until then because they are always at odds. They end up working together to clear her name/take down the bad guy. Enemies to friends to lovers story.

In early December, Disney executive Kevin Mayer spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about Disney’s entrance into streaming services with both Disney+ and Hulu. The topic of the recently cancelled Marvel shows on Netflix came up, and this is what he said:

Would you consider reviving the Marvel shows that Netflix canceled? They are very high-quality shows. We haven’t yet discussed that, but  I would say that’s a possibility.

The fact that he calls these shows “high-quality” and doesn’t rule out the possibility of renewing them on one of Disney’s streaming services, whether Disney+ or Hulu after the Fox acquisition, is the most that anyone at Disney has said since the cancellation. This became the basis of our #WorthTheWait campaign. But now we’re ready to do even more.

Mr. Mayer needs to know how much the fans want to see Daredevil back, and this is where our next campaign initiative comes in! We want to harness the full force of the fandom and send out one huge surge of hand-written support to convey how much this show means to us, in THIS form, with THIS cast and THIS creative team. The #SaveDaredevil campaign is prepared to receive all of your letters and send them in one shipment to the Walt Disney Studios offices.

It can be a brief note, a postcard, a multi-page screed, or even an email. Whatever you feel most comfortable doing, as long as it shows your enthusiasm and passion for the show. If you decide to opt for snail mail, your notes and letters can be addressed to:

Our goal is to collect as many letters as we can by 1/31/2019 and mail out ASAP, so please try to plan your mailing timetable accordingly.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER FOR ANY COMMUNICATIONS WITH DISNEY OR ITS EXECS:

Keep the tone civil and positive. All indications are Disney had no idea Netflix was going to cancel these shows.

Remind Mr. Mayer that we do not want to see a reboot of this character. We want to see the original cast, crew and creative team.

Disney told the New York Times that Disney+ will be a family friendly platform, with more adult oriented programming going to Hulu. If we want to see Daredevil continue as a TV-MA show, we want to clearly state this, and suggest it be revived on Hulu rather than Disney+.

Remind Mr. Mayer that Disney has a track record of considering their consumers to be “guests” rather than “customers.” The cancellation of Daredevil is being played out on social media as a story where Netflix is clearly the villain. Wouldn’t Disney like to be the hero who saves it, and gains loyal subscribers in return?

Most importantly, tell Mr. Mayer WHY you want this show back. Tell your personal story of why this show is so important to you. We don’t want him to receive hundreds of identical letters; we want him to receive thousands of personal, heartfelt appeals to #SaveDaredevil.

We can’t think of a better way to announce our website address change than to share this wonderful gem - our campaign officially got bumped by Vincent D’Onofrio!!
