Warning bells had sounded in Cor’s mind when Noctis had let it slip that he saw the SAME person watching him pretty much every day on his way to and from school. It had been going on for quite some time, which Cor found strange. If he wanted to hurt the Prince, surely he would have done so already, or perhaps he just hadn’t had the chance. It didn’t matter to him that the person in question was just a kid – Cor took Noct’s safety very seriously and anyone who intended to spend time alone with him had to be checked thoroughly beforehand.

Prompto was an example. It was nothing personal and he’d never had any concerns about the boy, but it was protocol.

Cor sent the Crownsguard to escort the Prince to school that day while he, dressed in civilian clothing hung in the background, eyes peeled for anyone acting suspicious. He hoped that the appearance of the Crownsguard would take any attention away from him.

There were many protocols if there was a number of people who were on to him. Let say, some of them included a lot of poison, unfortunately he’s not the type to put poison in his teeth since he doubts himself and he might accidentally poison himself if he panics. Keeping a cool face he walks on as if there wasn’t a care in the world. 

 Still, it was a calm morning, but his eyes were searching for the prince again until he came in escorted by the crownsguard. That was new, the prince never did that before, unless some event is happening. 

 “...Is there some holiday I don’t know of?”

his hair marks him as either altissian or nif. But his red eyes were kind of a odd ball thing, being a product of...some thigns. 

Bartz was looking at the water that he had no idea someone was nearby as he flinches before calming down as he spoke, sweat dropping slightly.

“Ahhh sorry if I was disturbing you Sir, yeah, I tend to come by here often to relax or go fishing as the waters are calm and gentle today with the nice weather. How is everything going for you with your fishing?”

theres nothing biting. Nothing at all. 

He stares at the fishing line. 

And stares. 

And stares...

He might as well painted a target on his head, suspicious person. For all intents and purses he has been stalking the prince since elementary. Of course with all the... stalking he has been doing, someone was bound to get suspicious. Which is why with gun in his back pocket, hidden by the school jacket he pauses when he sees a few crown vehicles on the way to school. 

Bartz was slowly walking down a grassy path towards a lake just in the distance as he breathed in the fresh air, the sun shining down as he sits by the shimmering clear water before getting out a fishing rod and casting the lure into it as he watched for a bite.

 Do you think that King wouldn’t notice the other? especially when no one is biting on his bait? that there is literally nothing in the sea attracted to his bait at the moment? No one said that king was a expert on fishing. He just like wasting his time doing this. 

“Hey, feel free to take as much credit as you want. I’m just here to kill a monster!” While money and credit were nice and all, that was honestly the last thing that was going through his mind. Taking out the monster and prevent further tragedies would be thanks enough. 

Zack held the sword and spared a glance. “You could say that. It’s been causing tons of destruction. So, kinda have to jump in and deal with it. Can’t let this thing stay around and let it hurt innocent people.” Leaping backwards giving room to swing about.

“How about we chat more after we kill this things, yeah?”

Of course the cave system was too deep that King ended up having to use a flash light along the way, and when that ended up breaking due to a monster attack, there were more monsters then a regular person could deal with. Fortunately there was a soldier here and  SOLDIER, on the prowl. 

 His guns had silences just in case, but the monsters were screeching all the while, probably alerting whatever big bad was there. 

 He squints after some time. 

 “... Its in the next room, you got your potion ready?”

“SOLDIER First Class at your service!” The silly grin plastered across his face and gave a thumbs up to the younger man. Unable to stop bouncing around while slashing at the monsters that started to descend towards him.

His head shook. “Nah, no need to apologize. Let’s focus on getting through this first than we’ll do introductions!”

 “Ya, sure. I’m getting a bit bounty after this so try not to take most of the credit ok. I got my eye on some sweet tickets after this.” Guns ready, sure his reflexes are sharp, but not as extreme as say SOLDIER first class. Anyways wow first class. 

 “First class huh, that mean the monster is extreme levels of dangerous we talking here?”   shoot, reload. Shoot, reload. 

 “Or your here fighting scrubs?” shoot. 

Sixteen going seventeen, King is top of his game...not really. The academy where he was sent to spy on the prince, was top notch boring. Like there wasn’t anything to do other then watch teenagers be teenagers. And yes while King is a teenager, he’s really bored of all this. 

 “Hey, I got extra from the lunch lady if you want it.” a extra apple goes a long way to a good diet but he got one too many by mistake and he , he is not the type to, admit to mistakes. 

Man of few words King has little to say as of the moment, the tides are slow today and he makes sure that everything is in place before he could do what he wants to do. Even though Suzaku was near the sea, right beside it, rarely do Cadets ever do recreation within the sea itself. So he dons the fishing gear of legend..

Spying for the empire was something he didn’t exactly plan on doing with his life, but with being in the same school as the crown prince, it had perks like using his hearing to... alright spying on the prince himself was useless considering he keeps napping at different places and doesn’t discuss a single citadel related subject. 

 Its not as if he was cooly leaning on the wall while the prince and his friend were just, talking. You know, he was the cool guy, he was expected to look cool all the time.
